So i've been building links and usually i've seen great movement upwards but i just went from 12 to 119 overnight this has never happened before? what should i do? other keywords are in the same boat dropping to the 200's from the 50 and it's been like this for like three days. I build maybe 40 links a days these are like articles and web 2 sites links

Just wait for 10+ days to give the benefit of doubt for Google dance. If not, then it means you are penalized

OP: It's a regular Google Dance. Don't slow your link building, and try to add more variation to your links.

If you are penalized, you'll know in a few days. But Google Dance's main purpose is to demotivate site owners so they stop building links, and G will come to know who's building fake links.

So, continue building links. It won't cause any harm.

Glad you guys saved that guy's comments as they seemed funny.

Anyway I've been having this effect.

Unfortunately I'd say keep blasting is precisely what you DON'T want to do cos I tried this on ppl's recs and just sunk further and further down.

The only thing that seems to have got me out of the multiple hundreds seem to have been bigbuddy's edu links; either that or letting time pass cos those are the only two things that happened in the two weeks between sinking down and coming back up again.

Even after that extended dance into the abyss I'm still right back at the same serps where I began and down 40 dollars or however much it was for those edu links.

My usual spam techniques seem to only cause this effect again so I am starting a new domain and trying pure white collar/whitehat for a bit and see what happens.

That's the way to get out of the Google dance! Don't give up on the website, this is normal procedure with Google.

The better the links you build, the less of the dance you'll experience in the future as well. Try and find high PageRank links, also sources of EDU & GOV are good as they often have amazing domain trust to pass along.

Why do people always say keep building links? It's a serious question, whenever I get a site penalized I just forget about it for a few months and invariably it returns to its previous rankings eventually.

It gives me a good excuse to work on other projects, which gives me a new focus for a while.

hmmm i'm noticing this with senuke sites......and when im using another software i do not get the same result.......i too have mentioned to keep sending links to it as well so that google won't think you had a huge spike of links and then you let it die off......but this is super duper unusual
