So we all know about Google analytics and compete.com etc.

But I'm looking for any website that when you type in a URL you get web based stats. I used to use statbrain but these days they take an age on there.

Need it for sites who are under the radar of alexa, compete etc ( less than a few hundred visitors a month or newish sites

Hope there's a suggestion or two

I should of added - any stats site that doesn't need tracking installed

Web based stats such as what?

If these websites don't have tracking installed, where you expect them to compute data from?

Good question. Stats for pageviews, UVs etc.

Like I said, Statbrain used to be OK for it but their getting a little buggy lately. If you know what I mean you may be able to visualize what I'm rattling on about.

Basically, type URL in search box and within a few minutes you get Page Views, Monthly UVs etc

GetClicky has worked well for me in the past as well.

Thanks guys. But these require tracking to be installed.

I need something more like statbrain but can give page view information on smaller sites.

With statbrain you just typed in the URL that you wanted stats for. Then after a few moments the page refreshed with the stats data.

Anyone help?

Code:
http://www.alexa.com/
http://www.quantcast.com
http://www.compete.com

Probably not the best for smaller sites though. You are never going to get good stats on low traffic sites without installing something.

is there a reason that you cannot install tracking code? understand that without tracking code installed, you simply will NOT get accurate traffic data

yeah, unfortunately all the results you are going to get will be pretty inaccurate. They all work by taking utilizing the fraction of people who have the [alexa/quantcast/compete] toolbar/plugin/some sort of tracking software installed and just extrapolating out.

e.g. 2mil people have compete tracking installed, if 3 of them visit your site within a month, then on average your site gets 3 x (total internet surfers/2mil). The less traffic a site gets, the less accurate this tracking is.

Yeh I guess you're right. I wanted a way to check competitor stats. Guess it cannot be done in lower traffic sites

It would have been far better to just have said that in the beginning - then we could have been working our brains around the true question that you have
