everything , any mistake start with the way how advertising messages are broadcasted to the general public

... I`ll not tell you from where I took this quotation but ...
In my honest opinion , everything begins with the fault of those '' success stories '' extra-super-mega promoted ; First of all , you peoples don't understand some basic things , like in OP case now ...
He had a job , good or bad none is able to say so , at the end of the day we can't be all general managers on a bank , or sexiest secretaries blonde and brainless

... quiting your day job to start by yourself an carrier on IM it's most foolish mistake from the world , why ? because first of all the way how your life will change ...
Yeah ... doing some IM work , in parallel with your real life it's maybe best bet for everyone ... at least until you manage and scale up enough your IM business to can afford same lifestyle level ... WHAT did you tough , you will quit your job , and you will put 2-3 spammy blogs up , hundreds of dollars start to roll into your bank account daily

?
Well to go back into the starting point , the extreme aggressive way for advertising on this '' niche ''

... why I say problems start from there ? because of few things ... none of experienced peoples ( who work on full time IM ) will NEVER tell you the full pictures ... usually IM require months maybe years to become at least average experienced , none never will say full specs of requirements ( for servers - hosting , full drive tests of workflow ... and all those small details .. ) usually you see even from my experience greatest toys released to public with very weak descriptions and so on ... why ? because none into sale letter will say '' everything '' if the seller make such mistakes is like shooting himself on the foot lol ... hes sales will fall down
What means success / failure from your point of view can be a very subjective aspect ... I saw peoples ( over the years ) who hit a certain level of revenue from their stuffs , then they quit / sell the websites and move on on their '' next big thing '' , I saw peoples who even try for years to accomplish the targets and never reach this point ...
In general informatics / technology evolve into such super high speeds than most of you don't even realize ... ( take example of OS ... each couple of years new OS version is released , take a look on big electronics stores , if you are buying an computer on january with $2500 , till the november maybe the price of same product will go down few hundreds , and will see at same price an more performance machine sold .... usually 15-20% ...) Same things happens on IM ... same way like technology , if you don't keep the step with the '' real time '' on this business you are going straight to a perfect point of failure
