Hello Guys,

Can anyone tell me how many (estimated) pr5 - pr6 backlinks should I achieve to have a page rank 5?

any comments or suggestions are welcome!

You only need 1 PR5 back link to achieve a PR5 site.

There are some factors to consider though:

How many int/ext links are on the page
Does Google know if you acquired that link yourself? If so, they will penalize the link without you knowing
Is the PR5 page an actual PR5? Toolbar PR is not updated constantly, but actual PR is.

if we need only 1 PR5 backlink, then all of guys will by PR9 or PR10 backlinks to achieve PR9 or PR10.
I don't think that is possible. But I don't have idea about how many PR5 backlinks. But more is better.:D

I will repeat for the sake of kkvsam, ONLY 1 is needed and is dependant on int/ext links

Your PR = (backlink PR x (80%)) / Number of OBL's

(80%): Google decides but usually it's 80%

*PS: and you will need to wait for the next PR update too :D It's not instantly.

What about IBL's? if a page has 100 IBL's and 1 external link I guess you'll get that "80%" juice?

IBL isn't that important for backlinks, you don't need to care about how many links an URL got to get that PR5 ;). IF an URL has PR5 and only has 1 link out to your site => Your site will get 80% of PR5 = PR4 . Again that (80%) depend on Google.

Theoretically yes, and everything else being equal, yes, you should get PR4. That's theory, I am not sure how it would work in practice...

Okay perfect .. I like it .. thanks also do you know or recommend any god pr linking guys who can do it honestly and are good.. I am tired trying 3-4 people and at the end they just take the money and just waste of time!

@kkvsam: Domain PR of the backlink has nothing to do with your site's PR. URL's PR pass juice to your site, not the Domain PR. even if you have a link back to your site from the root of this domain: forum.developers.facebook.net, you still won't get 80% PR because they have 100's of links to their internal sub-forums and posts as well :).

Look at this again:

Your PR = (backlink PR x (80%)) / Number of OBL's

PS: OBL's included inner pages as well :) For example: forum.developers.facebook.net has PR 9 and linked to 20 sub-forums and 20 posts and 1 link to your http://www.domain.com . The PR will flow like this: (PR 9 x 80%) / (20 + 20 + 1) = 0.17 PR. So you will need 5 / 0.17 = 30 backlinks from root of PR9 domains like this one to get PR5

I?m sorry, this is false information

IBL?s is extremely important, pagerank gets diluted internally and externally. OP, be warned, if you get a link with high IBL?s, it will not be as valuable.

IBL's is extremely important,

Tell me why it's extremely important? IF an URL already got PR5, its IBL's had to be good already and you don't need to care about its IBL's anymore. Think before you judge.

I do agree with you on the structure of links. OP research more about PR Sculpting..

Youngguy, this is basic practice, pagerank get passed to internal pages, with a good internal link structure you can get a high percentage of indexed pages as pagerank flows to internal pages.

Here is an example of a real high quality link, blackhat style: hxxp://w3.mnemopol.net/
Now please notice there is no internal links, this is done so that pagerank can flow out externally.

I really dont know, but my suggestion is that you should more look to get 1 or several higher PR links then the one you want to get, it whould for sure raise the chance of getting to 5 when you have a PR6 or PR7 backlink.
I believe with PR3 or PR4 it may be still working that way but for higher pr it will be more difficult.

Oh I'm talking about backlinks juices (links from the outside), not internal pages. PR of the backlink is important, not the IBL's of your backlinks. IBL's of your backlinks only important when you try to make a PR0 backlink to PR5... then yeah, you need to build another layer of links to your layer 1 backlinks. Again read carefully before you judge ;) I was talking about outside links to your site, not inner pages of your site. Read #13 again, I do agree with you about the structure of the links, and you too should research more about PR Sculpting to know more.
