I remember reading either a post or a thread about "the ipad effect." It was about how peoples perception changes towards a person when they see that they own an ipad. I thought Taktical wrote it but I can't seem to find it. If anyone knows where it is could you link it please?

Taktical mentioned that he would wear a suit and have his ipad with him for professional meetings with potential clients in his big thread here in offline marketing. It didn't really go into much detail and it was not a neccessity.

It's more just another possible way to appear professional and successful.

Exactly, it is all about appearing professional.

I've recently traded in my jeans and t-shirt for a pencil skirt and a blouse. It does wonders. If you look important and act important people will believe you are important.

I wear sandals and t-shirt and get tons of clients. Why? Because I come recommended. If you don't come recommended then wear something that makes you look like a pro.

When I see people at my school with iPads I think they are pretentious douches who buy because apple says so no matter how useless and inefficient the product is.

That's because they are in school and that iPad could only have come from mummy and daddys wallet. And I agree completely.

Once your in the big business world everyone just wants to try and show how good they are with all their flashy gadgets. While iPads aren't the best tablet around they are the standard set by a company who knows how to brand themselves well. They also work the best straight out of the box with no user knowledge required so big businessmen who leave all technical stuff to there underlings can still use them

I would still rock up in something that looks professional. It makes it look like you can be taken seriously. Even if you are recommended, its always best to put your best face forward. You never know if someone will be turned off, even if their best friend was all "you have to check them out".

Its really not hard nor that expensive to look professional. And once you've got the contract... its over and you can stop pretending
