How am I doing so far?

Only curious to know how others are doing compared to me. I've followed crashed's 30 day challenge, well 16 day challenge really and feel pretty confident in going forward with this from searching around on here.

My blog has been up for approx 3-4 days and I've gotten about 140 hits total. The first day or two I haven't done much to it, but I've gotten about 70 hits yesterday, 42 hits today so far, and 28 hits on I'll say the second day once I actually started adding content and advertising on twitter.

The only thing I'm doing on a daily basis now is unfollowing and following on twitter with schedule posts on SocialOomph (as suggested by Crashed Challenge). I've been reading a lot but kind of undecided where to go from here. I know there's plentyyyyy of things I can do... I have a good 5-6 posts on my blog which are VERY helpful for many people. It's not just trash. I think I could get a lot more hits if I knew a much better way to broadcast the link and a brief description.

But as far as my traffic, any comments?

Also, it appears that most of my traffic comes from the minute I tweet. If I stop tweeting all day, I probably won't get anything. The minute I send out a tweet advertising a link on my page, I immediately get 5-10 UVs. So far 49 followers.

$2 is huge not many people achieve that keep it up man! also if you see alot of visitors get cpa too pays more than ppc

I have 1 ad for about 2-3 CPA networks on my site besides Google. I just don't think for some reason anyone's interesting in clicking the ads. I'm using WordPress and Zbench for my theme.

I don't think that Adsense is profitable if you have just 1 site, You can try adsense if you have something like 10-20 sites, you will be able to make good money then.

Thanks. What about the other affiliate networks that I have ads for? MaxBounty, PeerFly, Clickbank (on the advertise page as suggested by crashed challenge), and CPA lead? Those are on my site as well and I haven't gotten anything from them. I was looking into getting a content locker but I'm not sure if I'd get banned from the networks as it seems to be against their TOS.

That's great! You've officially made more than most people on a lot of forums. The important thing is that you took action.

A loyal following of real twitter users can bring traffic to your blog. Be sure to target users who are interested in your niche.

SEO takes time to see results. Sure you might have some early spikes from time to time, but you have to have patience. Building a site up is a marathon, not a sprint.

Try building links to your blog on web 2.0 properties like Squidoo, Youtube, Wordpress.com, Hubpages, etc.

Thanks for your input. Honestly, I feel that I'm targeting majority of everyone. I say that because everyone can get highly beneficial information off of my blog as well as save themselves a lot of time and money. I've been doing this type of work in the past and get a lot of calls, so I figured writing a blog about some of it would definitely be great, since it'd target more than just local users.

Is tools like scrapebox really worth it? Also, when people talk about building backlinks, are they just referring to going to other blogs and just making simple comments with my blog's link in the comment? I'm asking because I don't experience others doing this myself, just curious.

Backlinks can be blog comments, forum profiles, forum signatures, yahoo answers, web 2.0 properties, article directories, etc. There are a lot of ways to get backlinks.

Scrapebox is a multi use tool. I think of it as a Swiss Army knife. It's very valuable for a variety of tasks. I use it to harvest urls, find competitors backlinks, check page rank, get links indexed, as well as blog commenting. With Google's recent changes, spamming comments may not have as much effect as it once did directly on a site, but you can still use it to give some link juice to sites pointing to your site. With the BHW discount, it's a great value.

Thanks. Very good information to know. I'm actually following people based upon my niche as well. It appears that every time I tweet though, I get 2 random hits from this Mac OS X bot. Thanks also for the information regarding Backlinks. I'm so ready to proceed.Btw do you know if with Scrapebox, if it allows like adding custom sites to add comments to? Not exactly sure how it does the backlinks part.

Scrapebox posts on Wordpress, Moveable Type, BlogEngine, mainly, and Drupal and B2E to a lesser degree. You can "teach" Scrapebox to post on other platforms, but I honestly haven't played with training it very much.

Nice man!! Honestly, it sounds like Scrapebox is the way to go if I want to move up in the page rankings at a faster pace. Wouldn't see any reason why I shouldn't let a program post for me.

Hoping these 100 UVs a day turn into at least a $1-2 a day or something.

The efficacy of blasting your money site with Scrapebox is debated these days. I think you would be better off using it to find high PR blogs to post comments to manually and then use it to blast web 2.0 or profiles that point to your site.

Do manual backlinking by Commenting on other blogs.

Submit to blog directories.

Dont blast it with any type of software.

Just make Good backlinks. and you'll start to get traffic from Google.

Great idea. I was reading too that it's a waste of time posting on sites that have lower page ranking as it could do more damage than good.

Ah, ok. I've just read this somewhere else too though this morning. They mentioned it's not really about the quantity of your links, but it matters more of the quality (PR i'm assuming) of the page you're putting your backlinks on.

Quality always matters mate.. A pr5 is more good than 100 pr0 backlinks. With the panda update and other things working on.. its sure you need to build quality backlinks. I have around 50 sites and i have played it with a lot.. I could feel the difference easily..

Thanks. For some reason my visitors dropped to about 6 yesterday and 8 today. Very interesting coming from about 80 UVs a day. Blah.
