OP is doing wrong to route payment via his friend, it is illegal, it is called tax evasion to use "donate" your paycheck. But mugs is not liable for it, it is responsibility of the payee so mugs should pay anyways (but dont know about the fact that mugs now knows that money is going a shady road?..)


Oh man i hate it when people show their ugly face i tought mugs would be a proper guy but looks like it's not the case.

Very true. Jr. VIP is nice, and I do like its availability to anyone willing to invest in themselves, but it doesn't legitimize anyone specifically. I'm not speaking of this instance, but just in general.

As it is understood, it's not getting the money, but how to carry out the transaction. I honestly have to side with Mugshots in terms of not being willing to send the money via WU to a "friend" of the OP. Anyone who asks you to do that is either (a) in over their head, or (b) shady. I wouldn't do it in either case.

As far as PayPal not allowing him to send $1500 from an IP that isn't recognized ... if you've ever worked with PayPal, you KNOW that this isn't hard to imagine and have heard instances of it in other situations.

Like or dislike Mugshots, believe or disbelieve the whole Vegas thing, this thread is about the circumstances surrounding this situation, and based on the posts and ideas presented here, I've gotta side with Mugs.

Actually, the payer can be charged in laundering cases. Moreover, if he pays this way, then Mugs is 100% liable if the OP claims he never received the funds from said friend.

There is no good reason to do this. If the OP wants his money that bad, he'll go get a free checking account and have Mugs deposit it there.

A western union can be sent to him.. Very easy.. You can be under 18 and receive
a western union. All he needs in an id to pick it up. Very easy and simple if sending the money exactly to his name..

If he is real, then wow, taking 50 people to Las Vegas, count me in. If he's not real, then it won't be that he's a scammer. It'd be that he is just living out some online fantasy, and is one of those people that has serious issues with separating fantasy from reality.

he is on vacation or traveling.. You can go to the western union website and put in
the zip code exactly were he is at and the website will tell you the closest one to you. Now
if the kid has some form of state id then he can go and pick it up. Very easy

If you want a legit job, then you get a contract and you get a proper tax set-up. If you want an employee, then you do the same. If you're doing it under the counter like this, then you better have a good reason. Is it worth it to pay osmeone under the counter for a cold caller? And is a cold caller worth $1500-3500?

Mugshots might have this money; but he's not spending it wisely IMHO. Cold callers can be found extremely cheaply. $3,500USD a month for cold calling with no previous experience is a fantastically good pay. Especially since it is under the counter. If I wanted a cold caller, I could easily pick one up for half that, legitimately.

You would pay someone who you have never met $1500 over western union? Without having an actual payment contract and payment database online that shows he legally agreed to accept payment to western union? That is insanity. All the employee would have to do is give his friends name instead, and have his friend pick up the money, and then what would the company do? They have proof they sent the money, but sending $1500 isn't proof of payment to the original worker. They need proof it was sent to the agreed upon person, and that is the problem here. The worker is the one giving the wrong name for the money to be sent to.

Well this is another thing that has come up a few times. It really doesn't seem like a legitimate registered business that he is running. He claims on his website it is an LLC, but I highly doubt it is a registered LLC.

Elance:
Workers have to file reports for you and submit proof of work, then payment is released. You can pay just with credit card, and the employee can accept payment and transfer it to their paypal or get a check. There should NEVER be another thread started over non payment from you. Do your deals in a more up and up way. Elance will get you professional cold callers for $10/hour who actually get you results. If you are not willing to set up your own payment interface, then you need to use someone elses. Just have anyone who wishes to work for you sign up as a worker on Elance and post the job and hire them.

Simple as that. You will never have an issue again.

he was going to pay.. So that basically sums that up. Now how this whole deal was put together yes it should have been organized but that's the thing of the past.. He said he was going to pay here on this forum so its basically a done deal. Now what needs to take place is send out that western union to this kids name and right it off and a business expense.

Problem is, his company isn't registered ANYWHERE in the US. The contract I have with him is useless, thankfully, I don't start any work until I get paid. He also took FOREVER to pay me for the logo, he said he sent a check and then his assistant went missing so he would pay me some other way...finally I got Paypal.

After reading through this, I think Mugs should just pay this guy, & leave it at that. A deal is a deal, & it should be completed.

If you read the entire thread, you would see that Mugshots didn't say he wouldn't be paying the guy. He said he will. He just needs to find an appropriate way to send the money. Why are all you guys posting irrelevant posts on this topic? The point of whether he will be paid or not was established a long time ago. The only matter is how the payment will be issued.

@Mugshots, I would not send anything VIA Western Union unless you already have a "written" agreement somewhere that the BHW Mods have seen and agree is enough "Proof" that you sent the money to the correct person. We don't need anymore drama like this coming up again. We don't need any more shady deals. Please contact a mod before sending the money so everyone is on the same page.
