What makes you a SEO Guru

Black Hat Junkies,

I am a big fan of all your postings and are great lessons for all of us who are not as knowledgeable.

My company is looking to do some online marketing and who better to than you.

We are looking for the big shots who think can make the difference in online marketing. I would like some help finding out what are the essential characteristics SEO Guru must posses.

I had a site that I worked on for a while, It was a PR7 and I can say one of the only PR7's in my niche almost in like single figures. :)

The gurus are all on wf and dp. We are all a bunch of newbs trying to make a buck...
 
A guru is a guy who does not know how to do stuff, just know how to talk/writte on how to do stuff :)
 
Yeah don't use anyone who calls themselves a guru. And on their CV they won't highlight rankings they got, or PR they got, or backlink counts, or anything like that. They'll tell you how their work paid off for clients in terms of actual money.

I know mate.. it was a lame answer ;)

Well the word 'guru' means one who is like an ocean of knowledge and is willing to share it with his chosen disciples. The word is derived from Sanskrit, wherein in ancient times a guru-shishya (teacher-learner) relationship would be established and hence some would be called a GURU.

I guess even though there are no specific guru-disciples here, there are several admins/mods/members out here who share their knowledge and information. When I was trying my luck on scrapebox, I read through the posts of a member called "Cyberzilla" who helped me understand every minute thing on using that great tool. I then came across the posts of "crazyflx" who makes some amazing tools to use with SB and also shares invaluable knowledge. From a Scrapebox point of view, these are THE gurus.

This forum is filled with such people who share not just tools they got from elsewhere, but more importantly knowledge. Anyone who shares relevant knowledge and helps others in a process of helping himself is a guru.

Spot on definition of the term and usage of the word Guru. Very few, far and between, actual GURU's in the marketplace..and why would there be? We're all in it to make a buck. Some of us are in it to make a lot more.
 
You can only be called a guru if you can say with a staight face that you are selling the method that made $34,567 per day for $9.95.

Extra guru bonus if its actually a method with rebills and or upsell
