Ok guys I have updated and uploaded the update. The following updates have been applied:
Fixed: Website crawler occassionally including an external link
Fixed: Bug in bad words list where if none were specified it could block most blog comments from being posted
Updated: Bad words list is no longer case sensitive.

Version number is v1.1.6 and is available in the downloads section of the members area. Everything should be nice and stable now.

For anyone who is using the portable version (which i think is great) don't forget to backup or just make a copy of your
DATABASE.db3
if you're already running the program, otherwise you'll loose the profiles/data/logs you've created. Then after that (or just move the DATABASE.db3 somewhere temp) copy over your install or just delete the old one and start using the portable version with you're old DATABASE.db3. Either way you do it, just don't forget about the DATABASE.db3 file.

I'll add some more text explaining this in the members area but in the mean time if you want to upgrade use the upgrade. Don't ever install the install or overwrite the portable if you want to keep your data.

wouldn't it work if the portable version just didn't include the database.db3 file, that way you could just unzip and overwrite, and for first time users, if the program starts up with no database.db3 file in directly it could just make one? or does it do that already? (either way new update seems to be better than the old one a day ago heh)

Nice and very fast update. But when I check it still seems to try to post comments for my twitter facebook digg stumble upon and so on social bookmark links.
I have send you an email with a copy of the log file.
Maybe you have a look at it. I am running 1.1.6
At least I believe I do. I cannot find the version information in the software. I just downloaded the update zip - unzipped it and replaced my old .exe file.
I hope that was right.

Yeah it could do this. I just never figured people would try updating with anything other than the update. You aren't the first one to mention this. I'll get this done at some point in the next few updates.

You will need to remove that profile and re-add it I'm afraid. At present short of going into the database with a DB manager there is no way to add/remove/edit pages from a profile. I have plans to add this is so long as I can keep from cluttering the tool up with hundreds of options.

This might sound silly but almost every hour i look at my taskbar and go "oh crap an error" then i realize it's the no hands seo icon... i think it's cool and all, but if it sits on my system tray (cuz i have it to showup instead of just notifications) can we just have the hand icon w/o the universal stop sign?

don't mean to spam, just thought of another feature, how about a
auto startup
play

feature

since it's like supposed to run in the background all the time, i just rebooted and forgot to turn it on, something like a autostart and play would be nice (or just the command line code?)

Yeah funnily enough I had this working early on in the testing phase but took it out because I hate programs that start up with Windows and it wasn't particularly well done. I will look into adding this at some point.

About the icon yeah it is silly :) But seriously I wouldn't really want to use a separate icon for system try, can you not just hide unused icons and you won't even notice it. I could grey it out or something, maybe it wouldn't be so alarming then.

Thanks for the useful input mate.

Hey Jim,

Bought this earlier using your coupon so thx for that mate!

I am developing some local client sites here in the UK and am just running a case study on a site that has only 10 backlinks at the moment.

I will let you know the results as am running this against my keywords now with the software. Looks a nifty bit of stuff for backlinks.

Cheers

oh please don't spend any programming time on this heh, it was just opinions =D

so far 2 days of use, a total, total junk site went up 20k in Alexa

Hi Jim,

any chance or is there a way so I can limit No Hands SEO to post only on specific TLDs (comorgnet) domains? Just ask since I got a couple of emails calling me a spammer since the comments are in english and because of the keywords most of the links have been placed on German sites. Would it be hard to implement this little feature?

So that we can say what TLDs we want or even better, a TLD blacklist. This way I could enter for example de, at and ch in the list and no comment is made on a german speaking domain.
What do you think? I mean I could change the comments file as well and make it german, but then I would have the same problems with the english sites.

I thought I can get them same result by entering German words in the blacklist but it seems to ignore these settings there, because when I restarted it still tried to articles which had the blacklisted words in the post.
Or can I use the block domain list in some way to only block all .de and .at and .ch domains.

Regards,
SamTheMan26

The block domain feature should do this. You should just be able to enter into the list .de .at etc Make sure you only put in one per line and it shuold block these .tlds.

Adding german words to the bad words list should result in it not posting to german sites though, are you sure it is still posting? Either way simply enter each tld you want to block into the block domain list and it should prevent from posting to those sites.

Great, I have heard of people bettering their search enginge rankigs and alexa rank before but its always nice to hear it still works :)

Yep I added German words like die, das or der which is basically the word "the" in english into the blacklist and saved. Then I started the tool again and it posted a comment on a German site that had lots of die, der or das in the content.

I will try to use the blockdomain list now. But maybe you can have a look at the blacklist feature since it seems it does not care what words are in there. Or do I have to setup another profile, but this would not make sense since it would start to post to all the whois links again.

Does the tool also support private proxies and what would be the format to enter them in the proxy list?

Update:
I restarted the tool and now I can see that it shows entries with the Bad Word Found at: Flag and skips them, which would be almost perfect if there was not a weird bug coming up.
I entered .de .at and .ch in the blog domain and a couple of german words and some english words I do not want on the post.
But now the tool flags a lot of entries with the Bad Word Found at: flag and skips it that do not have these words on the actual page or which are not one of the blacklisted TLDs.
I went through all my blacklisted words and could not find one of them and it is obviously not a .de, .at or .ch domain, so why did the tool skip this site?
I have checked a couple more and found that it does that quite often. Maybe it is just a user mistake - which means my fault, but I just don't see how the URL from above could be skipped with my settings.
Could it be that if I enter the word "die" in the blacklist and it finds the word "audience" on the page, that this triggers the skipping? or if I enter "der" and it finds "considering"?

Jim do you have an idea?

That is exactly what it is. If you want to verify if a bad word has been found do not read the content to try to find the word load the webpage up, get the source of the page up and do a CTRL+F find for your blocked words. That will show you if the bad word is present.

Also with adding .de and others to the domain block list it could block domains that you don't necessarily want blocking for instance if there is a website www .deafpeople.com and you have .de in the block unwanted domains it will block that. You can limit this by changing it to .de/ and .at/

The tool does support proxies and uses the normal formatting for all proxies, this is explained in the tool when you hover over the input box for proxies and also in the manual. In short the formats are below:
Public:
IP:Port (e.g 127.0.0.1:80)
Private:
IP:Port:User:Pass (e.g. 127.0.0.1:80:User:Pass)

I hope that helps.

Thanks for the quick reply. I changed it to .de/ and so on.
But I think that the tool uses the blacklist for bad words like this:
blacklistet word: die
filters out pages that contain words like: audience

Do you think you can change that behaviour so that it only skips pages that contain the actual word "die" and not the 3 leter string inside any word?

Hi

Theres a very good video about this tool on You Tube.
hxxp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1NUCVUVGuM

I have watched the video and have these questions

1. When you add a profile do you always add your home page ?
2. Do you add additional profiles to your sites inner pages.
3. You say you can leave this running whilst you are on holiday. If you had one profile with 5 key words. How long would it run for. Would it eventually stop ?

I've set up a project but it is not pulling up any sites to post on, like this was actually in the log:

Searching Blog Pages: http://mysite.com/ =-=> health
Found 0 Blog Pages

I can't really imagine that there are 0 pages to comment on around the word "health." Did I break it? I added words to block (porn, viagra, etc) and am using proxies.

Thanks for the quick reply. I changed it to .de/ and so on.

You say you have changed the domain block list to .de/ and so on for your domains so surely there is no need to have the use of the bad words list contain such small word fragments as die. I understand you wanting to block german websites but you have done so with the domain block list so there is no need to use the word block list for this purpose.

I will look into making a better bad word filter but as that would be a relatively large uptaking it is not something that I would be willing to do before I am happy that I have added other useful tools.

1) No. If you are looking to generate links to your whole website then you can add it as a website and it will crawl all links on the same domain and generate links for each page. However if you just wanted to add a single page for submission you would simply choose the page option and it will generate links just to that page.
2) You can add single pages or a whole website, the use of this feature is up to you. You can also add a list of pages into a single profile so that you enter a single group of keywords and anchor texts for a bunch of webpages that aren't necessarily on the same domain but are similar in some way. Think Social bookmark lists or article page lists.
3) Once your keywords have been searched the tool will use search engine keyword suggestions to extend these keywords for you, this can turn 10 keywords into upto 100 keywords. This process will carry on until all suggestions are used up and all words have been searched. Once you have run out of suggested keywords the tool will begin to use trending keywords to search for more targets.

No Hands SEO will literally keep running until you turn it off.

Are the proxies public by any chance? I would suggest either use private proxies or not at all. Public proxies will end up losing you valuable possible targets and you could end up with a very low success rate of comments posted.
