FBI Haunting "Anonymous" Hackers

Reminds me of the Amiga scene - those where the days - never been into hacking.

All of my hacking experience is behind me and I'm sure most of the methods no longer work. It was fun while it lasted but that was 10-years ago.

Having said that, since there is no official leader, any hacker can take down a Twitter account and claim that it was pulled off by Anonymous and thus the group will live on.

Based on the type of attacks they have made, it sounds like they are in the US. I was OK with the attack on Sony and a few others they made, but putting innocent people at risk is nothing to be a fan of.

The hacks attract a lot of attention from folks like us. For many, Anonymous is making our childhood dreams a reality and as part of the blackhat internet world, we feel like part of the 'team'.

Most of us are smart enough to see the long term consequences.

The silent leaders of Anonymous will come down over time. Greed, glory, and fame will get the best of many and agenda's will no longer line up. Members will turn on one another. New groups will form and hacking will continue.

Most of those hacking groups consist of teenagers that got bored of video games. Too bad they didn't focus their talent on legally making money instead.

That's my take...

I agree with everything else but Anonymous already disagrees and turns on Anonymous. If you've ever been in their anonops room, it's like watching the equivalent of an internet foodfight. Their best advantage is that they don't have a real leadership, and the fact they are not a true hacker group (unlike Lulzsec who was banded just to hack things for the lulz).

I support their ideas, and I think that governments dont have the right approach to anonymous.

Governments should realise that they cant arrest ideas, just people.
The idea of being against censorship for example will never disappear, no matter how many people you arrest. People will always stand up and fight censorship.

Btw, I dont support all of their actions, some For teh lulz operations are not necessary for me.
