Hey guys well recently i've been working on a couple website and i need some help setting up my 2nd domain on HostGator as a "add-on domain."
I have my first domain, "mywebsite" and now im trying to add "Mysite" both are completely different websites nothing to do with eachother , but how do i go around to get it hosted and making it work.
i added the 2nd domain but where do i go from there, i installed WP on the 2nd website but i do not know how to access or even change anything.

do i need to change my name servers? (registered with godaddy)
or just my DNS and click forward domain

please and thank you for all the help!

Yes you need to change the nameservers of the new added domain in godaddy.
After adding nameservers it takes sometime to propogate dns .

Here is a good place to start:

http://www.hostgator.com/tutorials.shtml

See especially the section down a bit that is under the heading "Managing Your Domain w/Another Registrar"

A decent video that may also help:

What he said. Get your nameservers from hostgator, go to "manage your domains" in godaddy and change the nameservers to your hostgator ones.

nameservers I believe.

ns1.hostgator.com

ns2.hostgator.com

ns1 and ns2 are definitely not the only options with HostGator...the OP needs to check the info on his specific account instead of using those two nameserver addresses...
