People often misunderstand the idea behind anonymous. There's a very core group of anons that make up the most vicious part of anonops, but there's a lot of "casual" anons that join in on operations. These are almost always the anons that wind up caught and plastered all over the news to assure the public that the government is all powerful and can find anyone.

In reality, Anonymous is a complex entity that takes firsthand experience to understand. The more intelligent members of AnonOps rarely put themselves in situations that they will ever be found.

In the case of Anonymous, taking out members like this is the same idea behind the RIAA mass suing people. It may deter some of the uninitiated, but it's an unsustainable front.

Only way to be really be anonymous on the internet,and its probably even more complicated then this:
1.VPN paid for by prepaid debit card
2.Prepaid mobile internet paid for a prepaid debit card/public wifi
3.Move around alot and replace the 3G card alot/use different hotspots in different parts of the country.
4. Don't brag

They knew what they risk but on the other hand some of them could get opportunity to work as hacker for gov later, cyber wars are more common today or they can work for banks in security department. BTW Geohot works now for facebook and makes apps for them b/c hackers are very smart programmers.

All of my hacking experience is behind me and I'm sure most of the methods no longer work. It was fun while it lasted but that was 10-years ago.

Having said that, since there is no official leader, any hacker can take down a Twitter account and claim that it was pulled off by Anonymous and thus the group will live on.

Based on the type of attacks they have made, it sounds like they are in the US. I was OK with the attack on Sony and a few others they made, but putting innocent people at risk is nothing to be a fan of.

The hacks attract a lot of attention from folks like us. For many, Anonymous is making our childhood dreams a reality and as part of the blackhat internet world, we feel like part of the 'team'.

Most of us are smart enough to see the long term consequences.

The silent leaders of Anonymous will come down over time. Greed, glory, and fame will get the best of many and agenda's will no longer line up. Members will turn on one another. New groups will form and hacking will continue.
