I just can't figure it out...

Well, I've got a past, 2 years ago, and the 5 years prior to that I used to make my living online, ranging from CPA offers, micro niche sites (before they were big) adult offers, ebay, and quite a few other things.

Well, the past 2 years I fell off of the face of the earth for personal reasons and now I'm getting back into the swing of things, well not really.
I jumped back online, all my methods are dry, my skill of thinking outside of the box has diminished, and most of my old domains expired or got sandboxed. I finally was able to pay my dedicated server bill that was on back pay for over a year and a half. Surprisingly it still had most of the content on the server.

It seems as if so much has changed that I can barely grasp it anymore. If I want to get back into something it seems just overwhelming now and I can't seem to figure out where I want to start.

I've tested some CPA offers, some clickbank stuff, built a couple of micro niche sites, did a bunch of link spamming to only find out they don't hold their weight with the big G like they used to.

It's all so frustrating and depressing actually. The only viable option I feel would benefit me at the moment would be paying for a crash course, or someone who just is feeling frisky to hurl me in the right direction.

One thing I was thinking of doing is building a double opt in list, which I've still got a viable method in doing so, but it can get quite costly. I just really don't like mailing.

Eh, now I'm just ranting. I'll cut it off here.
If you're feeling generous, and have an extra bone to toss to an old IM veteran, I've got my baseball glove on ready to catch any advice in this new ever so changing market.

I'm in the very same situation like yours. I started since early 2000, had earned my living full time off the internet through various stuff until in 2007 when i started an offline business that flopped, spent all my time, effort and money onto that thing until broke. I suffered depression and went through personal issues because of that. Bad thing that my online sources of income also died. I pushed myself on coming back but seems a lot has already changed. I feel like that little kid fist day in school. It's so confusing and frustrating, starting out from scratch again..

Well holy hell. That's exactly what I did. Invested offline, went well for a while until one of the partners completed fisted us, leaving us all financially unstable, leading to extreme depression. I've tried, I gave a lot in the past, now I almost feel retarded, no lie. It's beginning to become depressing on top of the situation I'm already in.

I can't seem to climb out of this hole, only dig it deeper.

I'm not going to quit though, just a little one on one advice would really suffice.

I'm glad I found someone in the same situation, which I'm sure we are not the only ones.

Basically micro niches are dead. Plenty of people say they aren't but they are for any decent income. Sites with 30 or more pages are all the rage now. I rarely go under 60.

Yea, It looks like things are constantly adapting and moving forward. Sometimes I wish I got into the game early, because when I look back I think that all the early methods seem so simple, but I bet a couple of years from now I will look back and think the same thing again.
