haha check this out guys, I have a debit card with a checking account that I never used and have $0 funds. All my money is in my savings so I made a purchase online for a record player on shop.com and they pulled the money from my checking which was empty and on top of that my bank charged me $35 overdraft fees.. After trying for hours talking to the bank, nobody wanted to help me waive this fee so I thought of BHW!!!

I told them that I have a blog that gets over 6 millions visitors a month and I will write the most horrible review about my customer service expierence.

The manager quickly came over and said "I looked into your account, and i apologize I will credit that $35 back to your account.


i said thank you and left. LOL! I feel so powerfull at the age of 24 haha

haha this made me realize something too, a bank is setup to scam everyone, banks use tricks. Do you really think there is no catch when you give a bank $50,000 in cash and they give you a tiny card in return? haha


The way a bank employee talks to me, I could detect every bad intentions they have, they are not there to help you if you approach them the wrong way, they will pick on you like a fat kid in kindergarten. What you need to do is be direct, when they tell you "i can't" say "YES U CAN" the more they say NO to you, keep pushing them, they CAN help you, they just don't want to.

Their jobs are to get rid of you as quickly as they can, Irate callers usually get what they want.

it is because giving an large overdraft charge that does not cover just the cost of 10 minutes of work + a letter cost if issued is illegal.... so by law they have to issue you it back.... the blog just persuaded them before the authorities got in touch with them...

Thats kind of clever. When I get into an argument with someone at the bank(my bank is next to a university) I usually tell them I am a university student and that I will make it my mission to let every university student know of their horrible service. Most of the time the they cave in

I just have my sister in law call or go by the bank. That bitch can throw a hissy-fit like nobody's business. Banks, goverment agencies or car dealerships: always send a women to these. They know they can't fuck with the hooch.

I've used this method on sprint when attempting to cancel my account and it worked. I kept the manager on the phone for over an hour and I told them that I have a blog site that has thousands of visitors a day, and I will spread the word that sprint customer service sucks, after about an hour they were able to issue me a credit and I didn't have to pay the early cancellation fee.

I work at a bank during the day and honestly you couldve said 'I'll tell my 5 friends not to bank here' and they wouldve refunded it to you. It only really works once though alot of people dont know that most banks give you a free courtesy of 1 overdraft reversal a year. The banker probably neglected to tell u that. No matter how much u complained the bank didnt HAVE to give you that money back; when u opened ur account u signed a paper stating that u will balance ur check book and are subject to fees when the bank has to pick up the tab cuz ur NSF.

Why not avoid the overdraft fees altogether and set up a $2500+ credit limit so overdraft fees never really happen anymore? Once you go over $0, you pull from your credit limit in your checking account and pay it back when you can. No more $35 overdraft fees.

if this is your first time.. and you have Bank of America you have 1 credit to use for any overdraft fee. After that they do not give you credit back.

yep thats what i usually recommend. instead of getting charged $35 for every single item in the negative, you usually got charged only 1 small fee (like $10) to make the one transfer over to cover ALL of your NSFs. Also guys banks are getting very competitive so if you say something like "I will close my account here" granted you keep a bit of money there or youve been there for a while, most of the time you will get your fee reversed. Reversing a fee is quicker than closing an account, and every account closed reflects negatively on the bank AND the bonuses of the managers in the branch. Where I work we get a 'customer retention' bonus at the end of the year so I'd rather reverse your fee if u threaten to leave
