Yeah pretty much. Your answers are just too general, there are a lot of variables in how long it takes to get ranked. Not all niches and keywords are created equal.

Choosing your first set of keywords is really the toughest part of getting started. Best thing to do is try and find something fairly easy to start with and work your way up to the harder ones. Better for learning and it will allow you to make some money while you are learning. It also allows you to make those mistakes on sites that you are not counting on to make you rich.
