My website is worth 50k :O

*cough cough* Any takers? Hehe I found it entertaing . Sure do wish I could get that for it . However I just saw a website just like mine go for 40k at sitepoint.

Also my alexa rank is higher than that website . So just maybe it is worth that much !!!

I know that figure is not acurate I make that this morning with my website . Besides I saw a website just like it with a lower alexa go for 40k just this week .

So I really do not think that 70.00 is acrurate at all.

Well I know evaluation websites are not that correct but Dnscoop does a pretty good job. It "guessed" the value of porn.com (950mil, sold for 1mil a year or so ago) and some other website sold at Sitepoint.

Nah could no way be correct when what it says it is worth it makes quite a bit more than that in a day .

It does not take into consideration other factors that determines the websites worth .

like websitevalued.com does .

So 70 dollars is it giving a extremly low ball quess . I tested it out on some sites that I know what are worth and it is not acurate at all . Either it estimates too high or too low .

But websitevalued does take into consideration all factors .

So I am going with the 50k estimate because if a website like mine went for 40k on site point with a lower amount of visitors and possibley a lower amount of revenue each day than I assume that is correct .

But if I do the standard 10 months profit it would be less about half of the 50k .

10 months standard profit margin is what most people go buy when selling and buying a website .

Which is roughly 25k 10 months income from this site .

But I would be a fool to sell it for 25k !! :O

No point in taking any notice of these valuations from websites, they mean JACKSH*T!!!

Your site is only worth how much revenue it produces for example, your site produces x each month. Times x by 12 months. Thats the best place to start.

Site Monthly Revenue x 12 months = site basic value!

Plus this is not always true as in a blogs case it could be monetised via textlink ads, affiliate banners, private ad sales etc. However whoever owns the site still has to produce good content, promote the site etc. So if you was to sell it the buyer would still have to put this effort in to keep that monthly revenue.

Value can be added by a unique or keyword domain, a unique brand, traffic site gains, rss & newsletter followers, if you have a good social network following like twitter, facebook, youtube etc.

But the basic valuation starts at your monthly profit x 12 months.

You can't sell your website for 50k just because some robot said it's worth that much.

Evaluating your website with statistics, Dnscoop is the best online but it can't calculate your monthly profit so you'll have to add that yourself.

Earnings - expenses = profit * 12 = website value

So if you do nothing on your website but sell targeted visitors then you shouldn't waste your time on automated evaluation. Multiple by 12 what you make monthly and if your profit exceeds 50k/month then you sell by how much you make in two years and so on.

If you make 1k/month and you want to sell your website for 50k then be my guest. If you sell it I'll pay Sitepoint fees.

Well it is interesting to say the least . I always thought that was how website value was determined anyway . But ran across that and flipped my lid .

12 months hmm was always told 10 months . So recon I need to refigure my data .

But anyway I think that a little more SEO *thinking of outsourcing it* and it will hit the 50k a year profit mark .

The last comapny i looked at charged 2500 a month for SEO but guaranteed xx amount of visitors from the search engines and the moon handed to you on a silver platter .

Personally I think estibot has the best metrics for non-human appraisals, but overall robots do a shitty job at estimating end-user and resale values. I've sold domains for $1k that were valued at $50, and vice versa.

They can analyze backlinks, traffic volume, keywords, domain extensions, etc but other intangible metrics like end-user demand, bidding wars, sentimental value is kinda hard for a robot to do. I started out in domaining and did that for 2 straight years before I even touched affiliate marketing, I gotta say it was helpful but I did it kind of ass backwards. Now when people come to ask me how good domains are when they think they've found a diamond in the rough my immediate response seems to be "what are you gonna do with it?"

Seems though that estibot values my website at 1k But like you said it depends on what you do with a website that is really important .

the best way to find the value is to sell it for 8-12 months worth of revenue, set the starting bid at maybe 6 months of revenue? so if you are bringing in $2 a month, you can in theory sell it for $10-20 not really worth it, but hey its a start. If you can double your monthly earnings to $4 a month then bingo, you have doubled your sales price... tweak this until you earn more and more each month, then sell them for more just a numbers game.
