Simple Proxy Help Needed

I just got my first private proxies through squidproxies and am having trouble using them. Scrapebox doesnt harvest ANYTHING or even make multiple connections, answer assault doesnt work with them, and firefox brings up an error claiming proxies cant connect (or something like that).

I'm simply puting them in as xx.xxx.xx.xx : port# If im not misstaken i should be adding the user/pass but im not sure if thats the problem or how to do that.

Let me add that I know this is a newb question but we all start somewhere so please dont blast me too bad on this one

For Scrapebox use it like this: proxy : port : user : pass (for example: 55.555.55:80:username:yourpassword)
