Dear BH members,

Thanks for all your help in my previous thread. I have been working on a live video streaming website for a little over five months now, and now I have the content ready. Think events, sports, and some freeview live television from Asia. The infrastructure for the content has been properly set up and the feeds are ready to go live.

There will be a guaranteed 10k - 20k traffic every day, but, I am worried about getting banned or reported by advertisers, and neither do I know which ad sites to approach to maximise income, whilst also feeling relatively safe. I have looked into the content-gateway idea, but frankly, it is not for my site.

I would request your help on the following matters:

1) Which ad sites should I approach and which are suitable for my site?

2) What should I do to monetise the site's content?

3) Which live streaming platform should I use?

4) Best ways to market such a site.

I really appreciate your help, guys. This has been my baby for the past five months, and I just want to get it off the ground in the right direction.

Thanks again.

Hope to hear from you guys soon.

How do u get a guaranteed 10-20k traffic. I've had loads of these sites and unless u rank for live football or something that's pretty hard to get. Plus, the competition is fierce so if you aren't linkbuilding every day you're quickly on page 3 (and not the good page 3 lol). Also more and more peeps are getting raided by trading standards for these kinda sites so be careful and hide all info.

The freeview stuff is language specific, and so, no raids with regard to those. The Live Sports, yes, it is a worry, but the streams are hosted and uploaded from a secure location in Asia, so no problems there.

I just need help monetising it. Can you give me some pointers on how to make money off this site?

Umm yeh all the guys who were raided didn't host the content either. They were arrested for 'soliciting illegal material' in other words linking to it.....I don't make much off them now.

Perhaps you could sell dem footy shirts our friend is hikin over at the Dropship or Ebay sections?

Would it help at all if I said the stream was hosted in Bhutan, and I resided in Nepal?

That's a good idea, actually.

Although, I was thinking of CPM adverts. Any good ones out there for streaming content for which I will not be banned, as it is foreign freeview channels, and there is a guaranteed 20,000 visitors a day?

I can ensure the visitors for the freeview foreign language streams.

For advertising. Open a channel on Justin.tv and name the streams always like the games which are on. Then instead of streaming direct on Justin show a link with your URL to your actual streaming site. This should not get u banned from Justin.

Thank you smartstar1 for your awesome input.

Any thoughts on how to monetise the site?

What has put you off the content gateway idea?
Conditions set by wherever you're getting the traffic from?
If that's not the reason, then I'd suggest locking, with a self-hosted gateway, is definitely the way to go for the most bank.

I guess its annoying for viewer to use a content gateway where in the middle of the stream your asked to download from pages and fill out forms. Basically doing three/ four things to watch the stream. What is the difference between content gateway and content lock/unlock?

Content lock seems alright, I guess. But is there no way of earning CPM?

I would focus on listbuilding so get their email addresses and in return they can watch the games. Then promote betting systems via email to them there are more than enough products on Clickbank. I would also agree to put banners of betting companies and poker sites on. These guys dont care where traffic is coming from as long as you bring them players.

I suggest you to looking for CPA with content locking. It can be very profitable after all.

so far Cpa+content locking+ i was thinking if you can make users see a video bb video to access the main stream.

Your forgetting 1 thing. Your market is from Asia. Probably india or something like that. Will they buy stuff online (shirts and or ebooks) ... prolly not.

You need to find a way to put ads on there. Maybe get in touch with other sites similar to yours that would like to have a link on your site for $100 per month or something.
