Hey everyone,

Just curious to know what everyone is doing as part of their online reputation management strategy. Have no clue where to start and how to go about it!

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

If you have a bad reputation you can do a Stat site blast with tools like ScrapeBox's Rapid Indexer tool which, will flood the serps with BS pages making it hard to find complaints.

You can also have friends, customers, etc. Utilize reputation sites like MyWot and give you positive ratings.

The way we do it is ensure the client has no negative information from disgruntled customers or competitors trying to appear to be his customers on the first page of Google.

Create mini sites, web 2.0 sites and SEO them and track down any negative comments and give praise as though we were an existing customer. Review sites can also help.

As the previous poster said, mass submission to a stat site tool can help somewhat too.

Hope this helps.

Quality content, submit blast, its for me, no need to do something risky i think.

Thanks for the input guys! Appreciate it!

SEO blasts are something I'm definitely going to look into ...hadn't even heard of it before...as for reputation sites, besides MyWot, which others would you recommend?

Depends if it for business or personal reputation management.

If you don't have any bad reputation at the moment, then focus on page one and only page one! Make sure to find some solid and serious sites, that actually gives value to potential customers to search for your company or for you as a person.

When you have created 10 different pages on 10 different domains, then work on the backlinking and make sure to lay down a strategy, where your best domain hit no 1 spot on page 1.

Continue to work on your backlinking, even though you don't have any bad reputation that is a treat to you.

The whole idea is to strongly dominate page one, so if/when you get a bad blogpost or similar, then will it never display on site 1.

If you already have some bad reputation, then make lot of web2.0 properties and blast the heack out of them. Quality of the web 2.0 is not the top priority here. You top priority is to make the bad search result disappear. When you have archived that goal, then can you start with my first recommendation in this post :)

Put your company name into Google Alerts so you get
a ping when somebody mentions you.

I am dealing with one bad review on page one search results ... takes bit of work. In retrospect would have been better to be prepared.

1) we encourage our customers to review us and if they do we give them discount coupon code for a future purchase.... surprisingly very few took advantage of it.... maybe we should make it more prominent but again we do not want to be pushy about it.

2) working on creating more listings on reputation sites... thinking of subcontracting it, but on the other had the advantage of having varied descriptions to avoid footprints

3) a fiverr order once a while to build up the reviews over time

4) bookmark / rss and slowly ping the sites with accumulated reviews to push those up in search results

yea...going to be using me-on-the-web for this....any others I should be looking at?

This is all really useful info you guys are giving me - thank you!

So the plan is to -

1. Get on me-on-the web.
2. create a bunch of web 2.0 sites
3. engage in some major SE0 and stat blast-ing (any good stats sites I should be submitting to?)
4. Hope like mad the above works well :)

Active personal web 2.0s for key personnell
Doppleganger inactive web 2.0s for key personell

This will give you your own version of ammunition should a situation arise, yiu already have active foot soldiers in the field and have the sleepers laying in wait to be called upon.

Sorry for thread bumping but I can't find any further information on "Active personal web 2.0 or Doppleganger inactive web 2.0" or is there a specific forum I should look at?

Good thing I was passing by active personal that means lets say Silly John aka SJ is the person with negative serps

facebook.com/silly john which SJ uses daily or frequently in the week
twitter.c.m/sillyjohn which sj uses daily or frequently in the week

So those are active web 2.0 properties.

Now say myspace and bebo he had set up profiles there but never really used them, these are dormant web 2.0s that are not brand new but have been dormant for a while which can now be awoken to bump the negative serp info further down.

There are 10 positions on the 1st page if SJ used the above correctly then he technically has 4 allies already.

Active web 2.0s used in time of peace and a proactive approach.
Dormant are the ones you bring in to build more properties as a reaction to something going wrong in the serps.

The true ideal here is to have thought ahead from day 1.
