Local company, get better ranking

Alright first time I create a thread here. I know it might have been answered before but I'm looking for specific.

I have a friend who I've create the website for a while ago, a local company offering music lessons.

We are ranking #1 for a couple of keywords, but some of them are between #2 and #9.

What are your suggestions to make it to NUMBER ONE on all keywords?

I have access to scrapebox. We have a twitter account that I have been "promoting" with Tweet Attacks (free version), etc.

His company got a good amount of clients (around 60) for the next autumn session, which is good for a one year old business in this niche, but I want to help him get MORE.

He will send about 10k flyers to local residences in two weeks. I proposed to him to add a piece a paper stating "First 50 registrations for a full session get a 50% rebate" or something like that. Any other marketing will help.

We want to CRUSH the local competition. I think it is fair because well, he's my friend, and I know he got the education to make it big.

Content is kinda hard at the moment... I'm planning on changing the website to wordpress, but then again it's a company offering courses, so there is not much to say besides prices, what they offer, etc.

2.0 properties, are you talking about articles submit or more in the like of social media?

Articles sites work... Also social sites and free blogs.. Google Knol, Squidoo, Wordpress, Blogger, Quizilla, etc.

Have those link to your main site with the anchor tags of the keywords you are targeting.

Blast those with Scrapebox.

At least that's the safe approach. You could blast your main site directly with SB with the anchor tags of the kws youre chasing.. but personally, I like to play it a bit on the safe side.

Get White hat Links from web 2.0, blogs, press release,bookmarks and submit your site to Pinging sites.

I just want to make sure I understand correctly the "technique".

Build web 2.0 articles/profiles/whatever. Blast those with scrapebox using "random" keywords (to make sure they don't overcome the keywords we want to rank for), and then those web 2.0 will have the actual keywords we want to rank for in them.

Is that right?
