Noob question to PR Backlinks

Sorry for asking but if you get a backlink for excample yahoo.answers from one of the subsites there where you answer questions which are normally PR0. does this link count as from a pr8 (domain PR) or a PR 0?

It will count as the page PR that its coming from, in which case it is a 0. Although domains that have high PR tend to filter that PR down to internal pages which is why the link will be worth more than a link from a PR0 domain.

For the people on fiverr who advertise backlinks service PR7 - PR9 etc.
Do they usually mean by domain PR or page PR?

I find it quite confusing and also quite 'misleading'. Some dont bother answering and some just try to avoid those questions.

That really gives you the answer right there...You know if someone will not answer a direct question it is because they are hiding something or know you will not like the answer.

And really think about it, did your really think you are going to be able to get a bunch of links on actual PR7-PR9 PAGES on fiver? You really knew the answer without even asking. Most of those links are going to be profile links on sites that have a high PR on the homepage.

You guys looking to buy link building services need to be careful about what you are buying. Ask enough questions to make sure that you know exactly what you are buying. If the seller does not answer to your satisfaction then move on to someone else. There are a lot of people selling links so find someone who seems upfront about their product/service.

And remember the cheapest deal is not always the best deal. Nothing wrong with being frugal. I tend to be pretty tight myself (or as my ex used to say "cheap S.O.B.) but it is all about a return on your investment. Spending $5 and not getting any return is so much worse than spending $10 and seeing even a small improvement.

This is true of your time as well as your money, maybe even more true. Make sure that your actions give you a good ROI on your time. I know especially starting out that it is very easy to waste time on unproductive activities.

In fact, I dont think ANY $5 backlinking service on fiverr will give you high PR backinks (even if there is, it will probably be very very limit quantity).

That is why i dont understand why everyone is all hyped up for $5 backlinking service on fivver, knowing those list are probably spammed by many others which obviously wont pass any juice (and they are mostly nofollow to begin with).

I guess they are only good to diversify your links afterall.

i would be interested in just a PR improvement as well. is there a rough idea how much quality backlink i need to get a better PR next PR update?

Well it does not necessarily follow that all the link sellers are selling links that are not any good. Lets take xrumer profile runs or scrapebox blasts for instance. You can get those pretty cheap and I would guess that kind of thing is mostly what people are selling over there. I do not know for sure as I have not gone there for links but probably so for the most part.

The key is to be sure to know exactly what you are buying. If you do mostly articles but want to run a couple scrapebox blasts for diversity, nothing wrong with that, just be clear up front and you will have less chances of being disappointed with your purchases.

For serp improvement it is hard to say as it really depends on your competition and so many other factors.

For PR I am still trying to sort out the last PR from a week ago Monday. I have over 100 sites in two networks with about 30% of them having changed PR either up or down. Trying to determine if I can find some formula in the whole thing to figure out the best way to bring a site to a PR5 with the least amount of effort.

The problem is we do not know when that PR snapshot was taken that Google released. I would bet a fair amount of money that it was at least a month old and would not be surprised if it was more like two-three months. Looking at the difference in what happened to sites I have had for awhile and sites that I have bought in the last 1-4 months really leads me to believe the snapshot was not extremely recent. Still crunching numbers though and thinking about it.

Bottom line though the more PR links you have the better off you are. Also do not forget that internal linking structure does matter. It seems that the more simple and direct structures seem to pass PR down to the inner pages much better than more complicated structures.

It will count as from the page you are linking it from, so in this case, pr0, but since the domain is pr8, the site is a trusted site and therefore the link have more value than if you get a pr0 link from a site that have pr0 on the homepage.
