i guess this guy is new and struggling to get work. but once he realize what he is getting is too less than what he deserve he will give less interest/important to your work. for a long term working relationship price should be comfortable.

He said $5 for a day. Even in my country earning $5 a hour is not bad and I can get a lot of people to work where I am for easily for $25 a day doing data work which is a fair pay

Ye rough day today, edited my post :).

man i could think of a million tasks to teach a $5/day worker.

facebook likes, traffic, keyword research, seo presentations, dropped domain searches, setup autoblogs...

i live in the U.S. and in 2009 i did research on moving to a large city within a third world country.

essentially it costs me about $1300 USD /mo. to live here, and armed with some great information from the Philippines i discovered i could live for aprox. $52 USD/mo. just outside the city and not sacrifice any of my current living amenities or change much of my current lifestyle.

those of you who cry "this is impossible" simply are not cultured enough to know what life is like outside of your little bubble of warmness and sunshine in comparison to many parts of the world who don't even have clean drinking water.

read a book.

he should be proud, the guy wasnt forced to take the job, he took it because it was so much better than what was available in his country. i pay my workers $150 for 130 hours, should i feel bad? let me tell you mother fucker, i work my guys only 5 days a week in a country where the standard is 6, i also give them a lunch and two breaks where the standard is only a lunch. but people like you who dont know what theyre talking about think of sweatshops and not how much worse life would be for these workers without people like us. they would be working 48 hours a week and have no breaks if they were working for a local.

lol yeah .........says the mod ok ill shut up then goodnite

if you write my unique article for my blog i will pay you 2 grains of premium rice (uncle bens) per hour

The question is, how long before the 5$/day employee figures out your simple business model and becomes your competition.

The reason why big corporations can hire cheap labor is because the cost of entry is high. The cheap labor can't duplicate the business model. In IM, anyone can enter free.

Havent you ever realized that all IM is is leveraging of knowledge?

The most experienced well versed internet marketers on BHW have hundreds of ideas and "simple" business models in place that have not crossed the minds of people like myself who are on a higher plane of thought--but have just not become privy to the how's involved in executing.

The reaon thease laborers will stay in these positions is the existential human condition--most strive for survival--NOT prosperity.

To make any of these business models work the worker doing the job would need to discover places like BHW and then understand the sales process to market his work.

To comment on the .34 cents an hour or whatever it is--this is the beauty of the internet--a globalized economy limited only by our perspective of what is "right" and "wrong" the position of feeding someone who needs a job is accurate.

A dollar bill is nothing without an entire system back of it which determines its value.

In a world with 7 billion people, a $5 per day worker means nothing to your business without a solid system in place which gives it value.

Congrats on finding those people. A bigger congrats on having the patience to train them. That is a good thing you are doing--giving someone skills they did not possess and an opportunity they did not have.

This is my opinion. This entire thread is opinions....and opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one. Doesn't make them right or wrong. They just are.

Apple does the same thing. And Billions buy iPhones.

You seem to have a problem answering questions or engaging in any type of serious conversation...I'm out and off to hire another cheap outsourced worker...

Coz probley you can't affort more than $5 you are probley as poor as them.

Hello,

I setup a computer, hired a person to work for 8 hours for $5 ($5 total for all 8 hours) and taught him to install wordpress themes and populate them with articles.

I'm just looking for ideas on how to scale it - I have a dream of putting about 10 people on the same model and make a reasonable profit.

I would be thankful for your ideas.

Thanks

My suggestion would be to pay a fair rate.
My cheapest outsourcers always ended up costing me the most money.

I started a few cheap workers off, got them trained up, monitored them for a while and left them to it... after which they stopped work, or just botched everything. I am still paying for this now in terms of lost revenue on sites that were set up last year that never made a bean.

The other issue is that, essentially, you have given FREE TRAINING to that person, and are also revealing other elements of your business model to him... he will be of ASAP, he is probably already looking for better paid opps elsewhere... maybe with your competitors.

My guess is he will take your money and use your PC for freelance work on the side. That is what I would do.

You get what you pay for.

You take the piss out of people they will take the piss out of you.

So, a canny outsourcer shown these methods will do what exactly? Carry on working for pennies or clone the model?

The reaon thease laborers will stay in these positions is the existential human condition--most strive for survival--NOT prosperity.

In my experience (of using outsourcers, which is extensive) the complete opposite is true. They are highly mobile.

To make any of these business models work the worker doing the job would need to discover places like BHW and then understand the sales process to market his work.

WTF, the poster of this thread said he was paying them to setup wordpress blogs right?

Google "Jobs Installing Wordpress"... a split second later your looking at an oDesk listing.

Anyone with the brains to set up WP has the brains to do a bit of googling to see if they can earn more money elsewhere.

The only barrier for these ppl is getting access to a PC / network connection. Once they get over that hurdle they can work online the same as anyone else.

@OP fair play you have given a jobless person a job! watch the lil dude doesn't pick up your tricks now and become your competition lol

well, I dont know how much 5$ in there worth but someone that knows nothing obviously to do real jobs, and someone that is smart only to do robotic tasks and who is living in a 40% unemployment rate country, why 5$ is bad ?
I mean In some countries you can buy a sandvic for half a dollar...(actually just realized you can do it in here as well but you are most likely gonna get poisoned...)
