Some anonymous hosts or cheap whois protection?

Hey Guys!

I am planning to register around 100+ different domains on several hosting packages. Could anyone of you tell me some hosts which are anonymous or which are offering a cheap whois protection? Godaddy offers whois protect but for 10$ per domain and I have also found some anonymous hosts but their domain prices are a bit overpriced.

While your thread title says that you need anonymous hosting OR whois protection, in reality you probably need both.

As two people above have said, Namecheap are great for domains and offer free whois protection for the first year (you will have to pay for it from then on though), however if your hosting something that may piss some people off then you will also need anonymous / bullet proof hosting to go for it, as in most cases hosting provider is the first who gets complaints and almost all "high street" providers tend to shut accounts down as soon as they receive even one complaint.

It's not the host that provide whois, it's the registrar.Namecheap provides free whois.

Actually namecheap removed the free whois private listing and now it costs an additional 2$ but I would try Hosterbox when I signed up they gave me free private whois listing and I think the domain costed me less then 10$ so that's a pretty good deal!

What about just providing false information? Don't they only care if they are able to reach you,and the name and street address doesn't really matter?

You may run into issues when something happens with your domain name and you need to prove that it truly belongs to you.

There's been quite a few stories about people losing their domains only because they had wrong WHOIS information and couldn't prove the ownership .. so not the best idea.
