Also, you mentioned that you guys get webmasters to tell their members to like the page. So, does that mean these users are not really interested and they are simply liking it to keep things going.

Good questions. Firstly, last time, it usually does show on the news feed as "Your Name Likes a Link" and the word "link" is hyperlinked to the webpage the user liked. As for your other question, the user would have the choice to like your page, other pages, or no pages at all. After all, it's an invite to like the page so I guess the user does need to have a degree of interest. Of course users are not age/gender/niche targeted so you shouldn't depend on those likes for conversions but they have great benefits like social proof, better credibility, and now people are talking about help it provides in SEO as well since Google is turning to the "people" or the social factors to help refine their ranking algorithms.
