Backlinks from high pr authority sites without anchor text

I recently spent some time to gather dof0ll0w High PR pages 5/6/7 of High PR domains, so I have more than a hundred of these high pr pages (no only domains) to leave BL on, but the problem is it's difficult to leave and a keyword in anchor text.

So, my question is is it beneficial to have just a BL form high pr authority pages, but without anchor text (or not relevant to the keyword).

If yes, what these BLs help for - SERP ranking, getting PR or?

Also, is it pointless to search for high PR page if this page is from high PR domain, because I recently heard G doesn't pay attention to the page PR (where BL comes from) as long as it's from high PR domain.

From what I understand, the link would be of value, just not as much value as a link with anchor text.

Yes it is helpful to get backlinks without anchor text.

If your onpage seo (title, description, tags, etc) are targeting your keywords, then you will rank higher for those terms even if no anchors are used.

They are good for search engine rankings (serp) and page rank (pr).

Still very beneficial. One of the things that naturally happens on the internet is other webmasters link to your site with the URL only. This is normal and G bot expects to see this.

In fact it is a good idea to have some of those in your link portfolio as a rule, so hell yeah, keep dropping those naked links. Some of the best links are non anchor text.

I get some good lovin from askville dot amazon dot com and those links are just raw links and I LOVE EM and use em on all my sites multiple times for deep linking and fast indexing.

There is really no such thing as a bad high PR link. While they may not help much for a specific keyword they will help raise the general trust of your site as well as raise the PR of the page they are pointing to.

One thing I do with those types of links is make sure I try and use a url that includes my keyword. (domain/my-keyword.html) as opposed to sending them to the main page of my site.

You will only rise in pr but not ranking if you don't use the anchor, how can google know what you want to rank for.

In all seriousness, backlinks from high PR pages are absolutely beneficial regardless of anchor text.

I hear what everyone is saying, but just want to mention that I have a site homepage with a natural PR 4, gained mostly from the kind of authority non-anchor backlinks people are talking about (customer recommendations, that sort of thing). I only fairly recently started tried to leverage that to start ranking for some key industry terms (not at all competitive) and I am having more trouble than I thought I would. I am deliberately going very softly precisely to see if this principle holds true, though. Will try to report back if I see any results.
