I've had some success with Fiverr in the past up to about $1k from Fiverr now.

People often look at Fiverr and can't see the economic benefit in selling things where you'll recieve slightly less than $4 per each sale. The way I approach Fiverr is that it is great for building a sales funnel/generating leads. Where each of the $5 buyers may become a long terms customer of my other services which are more profitable.

Yes, selling this service is against the TOS of Fiverr, so I do it carefully. The result of this for me has been more than $3000 in profit, which I consider worthwhile since IM for me is not a full or part time job. I do it because I enjoy it and it hasn't been as time consuming as I thought it would be.

While I am still a firm believer of using Fiverr to generate initial sales and greater income with those leads, I've seen people selling things on ebay, something that I've never really gotten into.

There are some pro's and cons to both marketplaces but seeing which one is actually more profitable in terms of revenue and time spent processing and fulffiling orders is something that can't always be measured by just observing the marketplace. Thats why I'm looking to sell similar services on both sites to see which one is more profitable.

I've started a fresh account on Fiverr now and will see how a new Fiverr account compares to a new seller on Ebay selling the same service, but slightly more expensive on Ebay.

The reason I made it slightly more expensive was to account for the additional option that you can donate money to charity for each item sold, hopefully this will generate some sales.

Can't really see any real money can be made on Fiverr, isn't it like $4 you get after their fee? By the time you log in, figure out the order, you already lost money before you even did the work.

Ha! I just laugh like crazy at these kinds of statements when I come across them.

Umm... there are people making what works out to $20 and $30 per hour on fiverr getting those 'little' $4.00 payments. YOU just have to be creative in the gigs you offer.

To the OP, I'm real interested in the results of your experiment.

I am not surprised, but to me $20-30/hour is a huge pay cut. That is also factored with zero downtime, I am sure in the end you for every 1 hour you work, there is likely 1 hour unpaid. So I doubt it is that much in reality with all things factored, but it may be.

Yeah, I see where you are coming from. In the past I've been able to do up to 10gigs per hour which is just under $40 (after paypal fees).

But the real money is in the orders you make with upsells from Fiverr. While it is against there TOS, I've made $1k in Fiverr directly, and over $3k with customers I've gotten from Fiverr and have worked with outside of Fiverr.

Think of Fiverr as the beginning of a sales Funnel as opposed to your main money earner and you'll see the potential.

I've currently started doing SEO services. IN the past I've done ebooks and other services, but I think there is more upsell potential/recurring orders for SEO.

What I like about Fiverr, is the traffic is already there ! You just have to come up with gigs that they want or that they think they need
Yes the reward can be low at times, but the potential for upsell is there.
As for Ebay, stopped using them a while back, got fed up of the extortionate fees.
I am interested to see how this turns out though.

Yeah, I try not to keep it in. Once I get around $100 I withdraw. That's a problem I don't like is it's not my money till its in my bank account.

Then again I'm still happy to keep using FIverr to generate higher end sales. even if I lose some money, I know that I can get people to pay $250+ after they've ordered my gig.

If u look on the other BH forum called BHT, u see many seo providers there outsource on fiverr - it is just so recognizable, u will recognize it when u see it

At $20/hour your talking $40,000 year, working 40 hour weeks and that's if you can keep up that pace the entire time (not likely) and your not likely to sell enough to fill that time either.

Yeah, still very short term thinking. Sure not everyone is going to take me up on my upsell but I'm not expecting them to. All I need is 1 or two people who need the gig 4 times a day because they have so many sites that need it done on. Not that hard to get, one of my last gigs withing 10 sales two people paid me over $700 for work which was easy to do.

Secondly, I can earn much more than $20/hour while not even working. I collect the orders and am therefore making just under $4 per order. I then pay my VA $1 to complete the job so I'm left with about $2.90. I can get anywhere from 5-20orders a day, and all i do is send the orders to my VA, and send the report to the buyer. So I'm really completing 20 orders in 1 hour (30 min collecting, 30 sending back to buyer) and I've made under $60.

Then again, I'm using this as lead generation, and chances are I'm going to get 1 person every few days (based on past gigs I've run) who are going to pay me between $500-$1k to do this on a larger scale month after month.

Stop thinking in terms of Fiver but about the opportunity it creates.

Personally speaking,Fiverr is doing great for me.People say what is the worth of $4 per sale.But seriously I take on average 10-15 orders per day on different accounts.Which makes average $55-$60 per day.And tell you what,most of the gigs I offer,are as simple to do as Google search.I use online tools and some files stored on my PC only.So hardly any efforts are needed.

riggggggght, an average, it takes me about 3 mintues work to make those $4; this transaltes to $80 per hour - do you want to know how many people on this board earn more than that? if I have to take a wild guess, roughly 0.0001%....
