I'm creating a blog around various low competition keyword items and then I'm trying to sell the items. Do I really need to write 400 words for my product review site?

The short answer is no.

But... if you want to rank long term, you need articles that are longer than that.

A typical writer for a legit site writes an 800 word column so your 400 word article would be pushing uphill if you went that route.

ya that ok with minimum 400 words ., well we write article for mini 400 and blog always write smaller than article.

I try to write a little bit more than 400. Just remember that your trying to hit at least 10-15% keywords in your articles. More is better for that goal.

i am looking for too~!

There is no specifics for the word counts. It all depends on your wish and how you want your blog to be structured. In general, articles used for submission purpose gives good click thru ratio if its between 400-450 words and not more than that. And if its less than 400 words, it makes the article spammy.

However for blog, it depends on the nature of topic and available information. I personally have seen good result with article of ~700 or more words, when the competition is medium or hard. but for low competition keywords, even ~250-300 words works fine. And if you plan to make that page static... go for ~1000 or more words.

It depends on the article site but 400 words are quite enough to publish your article.

The idea is for your page to be seen as quality content for the product you are writing for.

So logically the longer the better.

Another advantage with longer articles is that you can have a quality article and still put all your LSI keywords and a good main keyword density

Hi, in my opinion the longer the better and 400 words should really be the minimum specially after panda and the best part is that you will rank for some longtail keywords that you would not expect, and that means more traffic resulting in more money in your account.

its not the quantity in this situation its the quality! Have great content and get to the point with your topic.

I rank some 300ish word articles in the top 3 for some fairly difficult terms so word count is not as important as you may think.

It can ideally be any word count you want it to be....but I personally feel 500 words works well - it's neither too long nor too short. It won't look spammy and you're readers won't get bored.

I'd say NO, not on a product sales site. 99% of your competition probably doesn't have articles that long. On the other hand, you have to spin your articles to 400 just so article directories will accept them, but for your own site no.

It depends on you and your products how much you want to promote. You can write as much as you want.
