I have a private blog about the area where I live - I am not selling anything there, it is not monetised at all, just my random rants and some photos and videos. I managed to sneak a link into the Wikipedia page and I now outrank it - I am number 1 in G00gle LOL! The link is nof0110w, but it counts!

Getting Wikipedia links is very difficult but you can get a link in reference list.Must post your link in reference

On the face of it I don't think linking an article or page to wikipedia would be of any value besides the fact that you would be sending your visitors to a more credible source of information. From an SEO perspective I don't see this influencing your page/article in any way.
