Does it matter buying a domain name for search engine results?

FOr instance buy a dot com name or dot info name for the keyword ?

yeah, it does
G seems to have .info little lower than com and net

but that might change in the future...

I thought it did not matter, that only the name matters D: How does .org rank?

Agree with this .info Domains are hard to rank.

.com and .net are good, almost the same value.

.com are what i always try for, .net I actually only have one site right now with that, but if you look at any google search they rank just fine... .org do well, but the only ones I've ever seen don't have any kind of ads or selling going on, I'm not sure if that is just coincidence or a real pattern... But, I think that may be something Big G is looking at in the .org area...

For .info and others, I really think they are dogs that should be avoided right now; anyways, I have yet to find a .info that ranked for any keyword I was looking at.

That may be because its new, but I think it may be because G knows they are new and therefore are not a proven commodity in the mind of the consumer/user also, so they are not ranking them as high as they might if they where .com .net or .org sites.

But these are just my own observations...

Coms are more expensive = more pro, and the more money you invest the more Google'll like your site = higher ranking.
Coms are always the best

Yeah .com is king, and .info is something of a ghetto TLD, but....

Even a .info, if properly SEO'd and promoted can do well. And moreover, a .org or .net can do very well - they are not restricted TLD's like .edu, but a good chunk of the public view them as more "trustworthy" than .com's. Some people mentally associate them with charities and official names and the like. Just a thought.

peace - gregs.
