I'm a local small business owner and I really can't afford to pay $500/month right now for someone to SEO my website. I know once it's done I'll have a larger customer base and have no problem with that. What I'm looking for right now is someone that would work with me to advertise my companies services online for some profit sharing. I understand. Just 99% of my income is tied up in my business at the moment (I own a computer repair shop with 3 techs right now, hopefully business will pick up and I can hire more). With profit sharing if I got one customer a day from your online marketing, you'd make 300 a month. I'm willing to pay $10 a head that walks in my door in response to your marketing. I've done some research and keywords for computer repair in my town get about 3000 monthly hits. Those are just mytown computer repair, I haven't done research in that depth but theres definitely money to be made. Im really more toward profit sharing because I feel it encourages people to work harder to keep my website from getting sandboxed and de-indexed which would severely hurt my business. If 60 of those 3000 searches come in a month, you'd make 600. I'm a businessman, not a marketer and thats where I need the help.

I'm not sure how you would be able to track how many customers your web marketing bring in personally, I guess all I can really offer is my word as a stand up honest businessman. If you're continuing to bring me a customer base why would I not want you to be happy? I had some highschool kids handing out flyers for $10 per one they brought in, I paid all of them out however the turnover on those wasn't as big as I expected. I could probably easily whip up an extra $200 a month but I want to be guaranteed results as I've been burned in the past. We're a legitimate business just looking to get result driven marketing. If there's another way that I can get some legitimate advertising without being burned or paying a crapton for little to no results, please, let me know.

EDIT: The only idea I can come up with so far is to set up a web based appointment system and I can give a %25 cut for every appointment that comes in. I really can't think of any other way to track it.

If the SEO will bring in good income, just take out a loan so you can pay for good SEO, and if you say it will reap rewards then the loan should get paid off for the SEO and you'll be into nice profit too.

The only problem I've seen with this is that at fixed-rate payment you get fixed-rate quality work. I want someone who isn't just happy with that $200 a month and possibly upwards of $1000. This is long term, getting us to #1 and keeping us there and maintaining a steady stream of income for yourself. I'm open to pretty much anything I just want to be sure that I'm not going to sink a ton of money into something that's going to give me zero results.

I'm open to pretty much anything I just want to be sure that I'm not going to sink a ton of money into something that's going to give me zero results.

Sorry, what do you mean by JV? I'm looking to hire someone to SEO and market and whatever else for me and pay them via profit sharing. If you could clarify or let me know exactly where I should move this to I'd gladly do so. Thanks.

EDIT: Sorry, found the joint ventures board after looking under the main forum directory. I'm not sure whether or not this is really a joint venture since I'm really just looking for someone to promote my business, just looking to pay them via profit sharing.
