Hi guys,
My rankings dropped after changing website structure, I was ranking for 5 keywords on page 1-4 in Google and know i'm not get any rankings for those keywords. I haven't used a permanent redirect and got a lot of nofound pages. After 3-5 days I have made a htaccess file and redirected all the old URLS to the new ones. it went 2 weeks and no changes, i'm not getting any rankings for those keywords. Please could some one tell me, will my site get ranking again and after how many weeks/months etc
thank you in advance.

No fix time but usually it happens soon... You should have done early... Check if it's redirecting properly... Also i guess you doing permanent redirect for this...

Yes, i'm doing permanent redirect with 301. A month has passed since I have made the changes with 301 redirect and still no rankings :(

How old's the site? It's possible that you were seeing the new content bonus and now you are settling into the position where you belong. It might have just happened to coincide with the restructuring.

If the restructuring of the site was the cause of the loss of rankings, the redirects will fix the problem. If it's totally normal bouncing around of a newer site then the redirects won't help.

Absolutely.

But to try to fix your current problem you should just build more backlinks to the site so that it can be crawled again. Ping it too if you want.

The domain is 3 years old, but the conent on it is about 3-4 months, the drop was exactly after I've changed the structure of the website.

yes, i'm building contextual high pagerank links now, but I'm interested if someone know when I will get back with my good rankings.

How long have you been building backlinks to the new pages?

Try this technique. This is if you have the same domain.

Look at your .htaccess

it should look like

Code:
redirect 301 /oldurl http://newurl

In your robots.txt file, type this in.
You have to do this for every 301 redirect url you made.

Code:
User-agent: *
Allow: /oldurl
Allow: /oldurl2
Allow: /oldurl3

the rankings was for the homepage, i'm building links to homepage only

I'm doing exactly in this way

I lost rankings for some of the keywords as well after the panda updates, but I think we can get them back if we keep working on them. So grab on, buddy.

some of the errors disappeared from google webmaster tools, hope after all my ranking will come back, any thoughts guys?

Remove all hidden or nearly hidden text on your web pages. Reconsider everything.
Remove any unnecessary redirects, links to dubious sites and all duplicate pages from your website.
Make sure that your HTML code is clear that your web pages look nice. Don't use any automatically created doorway pages.
If you purchased links for high ranking, try to get rid of them.
Then only you would be able to get your ranking back. I hope so.

How many of you lost your sites ranking in the google? I am one of them and also trying to get it back.

I think all these rankings losts are beacasue 70% of my webpages were not found, but now they dissapear one by one and hope to get back with my rankings, I cannot find any previous rankigs for my homepage, but i have good rankings for my inner pages.

i dont think it's simply because of your redirection stuffs. It shouldnt happen that way. Maybe simply SERPs update and you lost your rankings...

This is very natural... When you removed the pages, you lost backlinks with it, keyword ranking associated with it.

Now you have to optimize your new pages for your keyword so that can appear high in the search results.
