Best "Self-Help" Books (Motivational)

i used to follow alot of the books that many of you have mentioned, but all in all it all it comes down to just one focal point:

'You become what you think about most of the time!"

I listened to all of them pretty much, tony robbins, brian tracey, who moved my cheese, etc....

They are all good, but there is an underlying principal that they all follow. Earl Nightinagale's message is truely to the point... I seriously must admit after realizing and fully comprehending what he's saying it totally changed the way I think everyday. His message isnt anything new, as it really was written and said by many philosophers and other highly intelligent folks from ancient times.

Buddha:
All that we are is the result of what we have thought. If a man speaks or acts with an evil thought, pain follows him. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him, like a shadow that never leaves him.

And other's he metnions... If someone told me his message 10 years ago, i think i would've been alot more successful than where I am today.

You can watch the message urself:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajIRxdeCRZM

After watching his message for the first time, i realized that ever other self help book basically just copied his message and rephrased it in their own way seeing that his video is from the 50's.

I hope this changes someone's life as it did for me, but a little too late I feel. I wish I knew sooner.

Tell me what you guys think.

I have read few self help books.Teo of them which i reall y liked are from Dale Carnegie.

How to win friends and influence people. and How to be happy

I bought the How to win friends and influence people for 1$ from a shop which sells second hand books :D

Not often you see one book which published initially in 1932 still sells today!

I have written the bullet points and read it every once in a while.

Think and Grow Rich . I listen to an audio version of the 2004-revisited-edition (The 21st-Century Edition) at least once a month, so I never forget the stories and the principles in the book.

I also recommend How to Win Friends and Influence People, and The Four Hour Work Week

I have them all on audio. Because my job is driving around at night delivering newspapers, so I listen to them while working. Anyone know of any books that has a good audio version? Some of the readers voices are just awful. the audio version I had of The Power of Now was sh*tty...

yes think and grow rich is definitely at the top, earl references it in the strangest secret, BUT the strangest secret is a short super condensed version of think and grow rich. thats why its so good. think and grow rich used to be mandatory reading in the 30's

you can get any audiobooks on audible.com. i choose to download them free from torrent sites. except for think and grow rich, which i listen to on my iphone :)

that was the reason behind one of my domains even thinkandliverich.com. every time i type it in it makes me think of the message in think and grow rich

They deleted the thread because apparently you're not allowed to put self help books in the downloads section. Flick me a PM and I'll send you any of those books that you like.

lonny, never read this title. , i will get it right now....i ALWAYS am open to soaking up new(fantastic)self help/positive books and audio. there are so many GREAT videos/audios that are out that you dont know about. they're there.

I realize this is an ancient thread, but these suggestions are timeless. I have read many of the suggestions and agree they are great. I just had one more that I have really enjoyed: John Kehoe - Mind Powers. There is a book and an audio program based on the book. I found it inspirational. Many books make you think, but Mind Powers has some practical exercises you can apply right away and see for yourself (well, maybe not right away, but for me within a week).
