Using Google Chrome / Gmail while blackhatting

How valid are the claims that Google will track you if you use your Google accounts to engage in blackhat seo? Using chrome for your browser...using gmail accounts to sign up for 2.0's...stuff like that. Even if G did notice a pattern, I doubt the backlink dilution would be very severe. Has anyone seen any research to back this up?

Sometimes I hesitate to check for indexed backlinks from my own IP too early, because I don't want queries being sent from the same IP for sites that aren't indexed, seems like it is setting up a pattern that could be recognized.

Lots of Chrome plugins available to remove the ID - try Unchrome for starters...

my guess is that they aren't tracking it like that. you can remove the id though with plugins but i guess your IP will still be there. use a proxy.

Google already tracks whatever they can with or without Chrome/GMail. What do you think they do when they can use services they control to track you? Check out the terms for Chrome and GMail, you may find a surprise or two in there.

Of course Google can track anything they want as long as you are using their services, but Chrome is definitely not the tool

there was life before google and there will be life after google. just today morning i read a thread here about a guy who got banned by adsense and how he felt ruined and how he started from ZERO and came back stronger than before... hats of to that guy. we need few hundreds more like him in here.

Why would you use Chrome for blackhatting in the first place?
It's not as powerful as Firefox and it leaves a bigger footprint IMHO because it's less popular than IE & FF.

There is no reason to waste gmail accounts (PITA to create) on Web 2.0 properties either.
Hotmail, Yahoo, etc. are perfectly fine.

And most importantly - Google wouldn't know every step you make online

Use proxies, or a VPN as standard... ALWAYS.

OK, so FireFox may be slower, but if you need to go through so much hassle to make Chrome trackless, then why not use FireFox to begin with? You'd be using the same amount of time fucking around with Chrome anyway.
