im reading quite a lot about social bookmarking and am seeing people finding success with it.

What is social bookmarking? How do u do it? is it white hat or black hat?

Personally I don't think it's all it's cracked up to be. I've tried numerous suggestions on how to do this but none of them have ever generated the traffic that they claim it does for me. I always figured it's just because I don't get it so if someone has the answer, I haven't found it yet. I haven't gotten the magic viral traffic boost either, but the increase in visitors has been steady and the add'l links have certainly helped.

socialmediadaily.com has an even better ebook than TABB, and I am writing an ebook myself that is more of a systematic approach. The most crucial part of the process -according to SMD - is using RSS feeds, while I focus so much on using Keywords and chains of blog farms, and I'm including video in the ebook. Like if you are launching 20 sites at once and you have sports,sex,gambling etc...should you lump them all together or split them up or just organize by niche? Not sure which is the best method.

ONLYWIRE sucks!

Why? because it is submitting ellegedly the exact same TITLE TEXT and Description to every single site. does that not look suss to Goog? Onlywire is also hated by the Bookmarking sites.

Also Lame in my opinion for the same reason above (exact same title and text description in everey single post: Therefore, when you check you backlinks a day later you will see NONE of them but 1 or 2, the others wont be listed cos duplicate info.

Socializer looks interesting but lets face it, the user who finds your page has to also have a socializer account and all the login details and passwords pre submitted, average users cannot be arsed doing it, to be honest neither can i - it will undoubtebly be the exact same description pulled from your first paragraph and title tags...

The secret to getting sticky links is varied text, title, description...

If anyone else has any opinions to counter this please , im all ears - what works and what doesnt?

In my opinion very little works but manual labour and painful socialposter.com submissions with varied text and description for each.

If im lucky after 3 days of submitting to 70 sites, i may get 15 that sticks in google - the rest dont!

I would organize them by niche or maybe put all together. When creating an account you have to make sure google index your page where all your bookmarks are...and keep indexed! So I think it would be too much work when creating 1 account for each site.

Trust me, I am not anxious to manually set up accounts at the social sites for each site that I launch but as djlest said, I don't want to be loading all these sites up with links for no reason. I want/need links that are going to stick for these sites. I have lots of sites that I can linkspam for but I need a stable system for the WH/GH sites I want to stick around for the long-term.

I think you should create a bunch of accounts for each service ie have 10 accounts per site This just means that when you bookmark your site, you can submit 10 different bookmarks increasing your sites 'popularity'

Obviously this means you need 10 different email accounts to register the user names but it is a feww hours of work to automate things for the long term

If you're bookmarking tons of sites and posts, then you're right - social bookmarking - and onlywire - sucks. But if you're whitehatting it, onlywiring just one site or post at a time, and/or outsourcing the bookmarking with multiple accounts and varied text - like I've been doing - then I'm surprised your results aren't any better.

Social bookmarking definately has its advantages. I would never go try doing it manually though. You need to either pay someone to do it for you OR find a program that will do all the work, like BookMarking Demon (found on BHW).

You can also go to socia*lmar*ker.com and do it semi-automated. I woudln't use onlywire anymore, their bookmarking service doesn't work anymore. Most of the sites they say they submit to, don't get submitted.
