Hi , I m currently working on ecommerce shopping site which sells 3d glasses. How should i approach to build links to home page and product pages.

try and write a few product reviews on article directories n make different pages linking to your product pages, this will give you some traffic and link juice, you could also get a few link blasts with scrapebox or xrumer to those articles/blog pages to pass on some extra weight.

your product pages may naturally do well in the search engines if they are specific products with longtail keyworks, but keep keep building links to your homepage + product pages and you will progress, good luck ;)

Just start building to your main keyword. High quality links rather than blog comments/forum profiles.

Try build some links from .edu and .gov sites and also just created profile links for home page only and for product page it will be better if you gonna individually promote each product like Social Bookmarking to Major sites and Blog comments in High PR sites. This will bring real traffic as you are promoting products so no matter are they d0f0ll0w or nofollow cause your target is to sell your products not Ranking in Search Engine. But if you are focusing on that as well then set a goal for each product and home page individually. Let me know if it helps or even ask me if you need more informations.

I use Magento and feel that it is very good for SEO straight out the box. With some extra development work and a few extensions you can have a very nice store for the SE's to crawl.

Link building is down to you though, your choice of cart won't really effect your link building.

Build alot of backlinks, if you have a same product resellers, try to comment on their site with you website and keyword, or swap/buy backlinks from them.

It's really simple. Sell good products that people would wan't to talk about share.
Sure you can go crazy with backlinks and articles, but if the product you're pushing
is garbage, you'd probably be only left with bad review articles linking back to your site.

Somewhat depends on how many products you have. Is it a few or do you have a large number with a bunch of categories?

Lets say you have a lot with cats.

Make a list of all your urls with the keyword you are targeting for each one.

Make a list of all your cats with all the keywords from the products in that category plus the main category keyword or words.

Start with the first list. Send 80% of the links to the separate product pages and split the other 20% up between the category page and your home page.

Then take your second list and run that with 80% to your cat page and 20% going to your home page.

Rinse and repeat.......

This will give you very targeted links to your product pages as well as your category pages. It will also give you a very nice variety of links to your home page that will allow you to get a double listing for a lot of keywords.

Ranking those product pages is what you really want to do, when someone goes to your site to buy something you want them to land on or close to the page where they can make the purchase without having to look. That is why you want to send most of the links to your product and category pages.

Where do you get your quality links? Do you use a linkbuilding service?

I'm looking for an affordable high quality linkbuilding service for my e-commerce sites..
