Since they have devalued both the effect of domain ages and domain name some after the panda update, which would you consider to the best domain to have a link to your moneysite on. (same article and link on both domains and lets say both domains got the same backlinks)

A 5 year old domain with a completely off topic domain name or a brand new domain with your main keyword as the domain name?

I think G would value an EMD over an aged domain if the aged one has no relative words in it. With their new algorithms I could be wrong but there is my two cents.

Sounds like the most logical thing to me too, but Google's been known to be fucked in the head before.

i'd take age if im doing agressive BH
if im going slow, then EMD

darn. Ive just started investing in 10yr old 4digit/letter domain names, hoping to flip

i will go for emd... having old domain with no keyword in it is for only temporary option. U rank for a keyword using 5 year old domain and some one else is buying the emd for that keyword. You will have advantage may for first 6 months. But after that emd will come front permanently..

for a link to your moneysite or to create your own site...
i would say EMD domain.. as that relates to your niche...

so basicly for a short term solution, aged domain
and for the long run, domain name.

makes ok sense.
