Sorry want to ask, I just received an email in one of my news website saying "sorry my website address censorship"

My name is Spencer's Head, from Congressman Lee Terry's office in Omaha, Nebraska. Congressman Terry has expressed interest in submitting editorials to "censor my website address". I have a question Regarding your submission guidelines for editorials; what are the deadlines, there is a length That you are looking for, WHO do We submit to Them? I just checked house. gov was "Home page of the United States House of Representatives"

just give them an email to submit to and if its good then post it

I am sure it would be pretty easy to find out if the guy is who he says he is

You could always call the number he gave you...Would be the quickest way to determine if it is spam or not.

I could not contact their phone, because I am not from the U.S. and cost a lot if I call them

it doesnt sound sketchy, it just sounds like it was written by an unpaid intern. it actually seems pretty legit.

Google the message. Should be your first course of action any time you receive a suspicious message! (If its a blog comment you should then fire up Yahoo Site Explorer and steal all their decent backlinks!), then phone the number if nothing comes up

(It's worth noting that most government offices in the UK and US use interns and or untrained staff for administrative grunt work, so there's ample opportunity for social enginering )

===> as for what use you'll get, possibly a link on a .gov site pointing to the article, and a mention on internal emails, you probably wont get much more besides useful contacts and the occasional free content

You can fake email addresses so be careful - maybe you can call the number on Skype?

Remember that the senders email can easily be faked. I can send mails from [email protected] . But a thing you can do to check if he is legit is to find the senders IP adress than check if its an Ip from Nebraska.
