Right, time to give back again. This script should help you increase your successful comment submissions to moderated blogs GREATLY.

Source of the Idea?

I got inspired by CrazyFlx's Blackbox plugin. Haven't tried it before but skimmed through the description and was pretty amazed about it's idea. Thumbs up crazyflx. I made a PHP script that provides a similar functionality but perhaps not 100% typical. More on that below.

What it does?

That is best demonstrated by a sample comment that uses the technique:
Hey there!
Great blog you have there buddy. I have added a link to your homepage on my website's friends page. Check it out:
[special url here]

I have even made a special directory on my website that redirects to yours. I plan on giving it out to friends :)
[special url here]

Now what happens is that you spam this same comment (maybe spinned) to hundreds of thousands of blogs as you usually do. Every (or almost everyone) blog admin that checks those links will find a link back to their website on your "friends" and they will find that the second URL redirects to their website's homepage :D:D

So they'd think there is no freaking way this is spam! The guy has linked back to my site! I should surely accept his comment and even link back to his!

See the potential? The power? :p :D

Usage?

Really simple.
1- Download and extract the 2 files included.
2- Upload the two files to a directory to your server, example: "friends"
3- You're done. Just link to those two files in all your blog comments. The script handles everything else.
4- [Optional] You can optionally change any static HTML inside the two files or error messages to your liking.
5- [Optional] You can optionally change the names of the two files to your liking.

The technicalities: How it actually works?

Well it's dependent on the HTTP Referrer. A lot of people here will immediately go whinning about how it isn't reliable. Well, more on that in the section below.

It grabs the HTTP Referrer (admin will click the link from his control panel on his website), trims to root domain, hyperlinks it and outputs it on a page with maybe 6-7 more "friend" URLs to seem legit. They would never guess that it was dynamically generated.

In the other "redirection" file, it does the same thing but then redirects to the root domain of that HTTP Referrer.

The technicalities: Limitations?

Many will argue that some browsers do not pass referrers and there may be other reasons like the user himself disabling it. Nowadays, both are unlikely as most major browsers pass referrers and only tech savvy users would disable it (if they have a good reason to). If that happens, the script has a backup plan by which it outputs an error message that the browser is unsupported. If the user is curious enough and changes browser, it'll then work :D

It's not 100% fool proof but I think the odds of it working most of the time is very high. And anyway, what do you have to lose? This would either increase your success rates so much or would do nothing (rare cases in my opinion).

I have no idea how crazyflx's plugin work and I'm sure it has some powerful fool proof measures, but this is a lightweight script that can be very helpful.

I have tested this when clicking the link from my WP admin panel and it worked perfectly. Using FireFox 4.

Shoot if you have any questions. :)

What? :P No one wants to say anything? lol

Beautiful weekend on the east coast of the US so I think everyone is outside. I have seen someone use this script within some of the posted comments to my own blog and I was wondering how they did it. Thanks for the inside info. Unfortunately, the comment was designated as spam by Akismet and the comment had little to do with the blog. The problem is everybody uses SB like a sledgehammer making it easy for Akismet and Spamhaus to pick them off. So modify and spin your comments!

Aha I guessed so! :D

It's not a super script, it's simple in coding but the whole effort was in brainstorming lol.

Well, try faster! :P I'm really curious to hear what people think ;)

@bertbaby

Ah maybe that's why there ain't too many people around. I was starting to get depressed. lol.

btw thanks for the thanks :)

Just gave it a shot last night with a blast.
It's working to some degree. 18 admins sent me e-mails thanking me for the backlinks and returning the favor. Keep in mind the the blast was finished at 02 AM GMT time. (for me that is about 7 hours ago).
Let's not forget that 1 guy told me he uses something similar so... I guess i hit one of you guys ? (sorry about that)

In less than a month every blogpost indexed by Google will receive thousands of comments like that :D

Well whoever told you they were using something similar probably meant crazyflx's blackbox.

Wow! You call that 'to some degree', I'd call it some decent success :D

Really a nice script, well done! I will try to modify it for trackbacks....

Glad to hear you liked it :)

Believe it or not, I never actually used trackbacks with scrapebox so I do not exactly know how a modification would be done but if you made one, would be great if you could share it with the rest of us! :)

YOu can twist this script for directory's that want a link back

Just saying and goodnight for now ;)

Sure about that? Don't they have a bot or so that checks the linkback? The HTTP Referrer trick would not work then.

If I had a working computer with a working copy of scrapebox instead of this shitty old spare laptop I'd be right on to this. Right now it's about position 97 on my to do list for when my puter comes back from it's warranty claim.

lol that sucks...

You gotta stop browsing BHW till you get your PC back cause this way your to do list will explode and you'll end up not doing anything :P

what really sucks is that they needed to ship it roughly 2500km to get fixed - from one corner of Australia to the other.
