Under Google webmasters, search queries, you can see the number of impressions you have had for each keyword.

In this case, do the impressions mean that someone actually saw your link in the search engine?

should be, more impression means more traffic, in my opinion...

G will show 10 results on a page. So if you are on page 1 position 10 and someone make a search. Then will you get an impression even though that the user only look at no1.

Yes this doesn't mean someone necessarily saw your link. Think of a CPM banner at the foooter of the page. Each pageload is an impression but that doesn't mean anybody SAW your banner. I wouldn't trust the big G on this number either. We all know their monthly searches in the adwords tool aren't right so why would they tell you the correct number of impressions you got?

That impression means - your listing appeared for a given query but that has got nothing to do whether the user saw it or not..

If my website showed up at #20 but the user just clicked on #1 and never saw my website because it was on the second page, does that count as an impression?

I don't think it does. On a few of my keywords it the impressions consistently increased as my rankings increased. It mellowed at once I got to the first page.

This isn't something I've completely tested or tracked though, so it's just my 2 cents from observtions.

No - it have to be on the actual site.
