I Need SEO tips for an ecommerce dropshipping website

Hey,

Can anyone give me some idea on how to do seo for an ecommerce dropshipping website. The website I have has many products for sale. The domain is not completely related either. So, I keep wondering how to target a particular keyword and rank my website because the products are so many and they keep changing as well.

Even if I hire an SEO guy, he asks me which keyword to target. Not sure what to tell him because there are so many products. The sales are also random here and there.

Good point, you have mentioned. I am actually selling electronic products. So, there is nothing much to be written in terms of uniqueness, but merely copy-paste such as unit size, model no, weight, battery life, input, built in memory, output, compatibility etc.

EDIT:

The previous owner used to make well over 100,000 worth of sales every year, but he used to spend heavily on adwords. I don't have money to spend on adword so the site is just lying around making few sales here and there. Therefore, I am keen on starting SEO for this website because of its potential and reputation.

If you want a good idea of how to model your site take a look at sonicelectronix they have a nice looking site and if you check out each product they dont only have weight size color, they have well written content for each unit they sell and they also include "call to action" words that create a mindset for buying that product....get creative and google and look around bhw for good info on getting started...

Oh yeah BTW I have nothing to do with that site and I am not promoting them in any way...they are competitors of mine but they have a huge staff that works that site and does a good job at it...jealous because I am only a three man operation...LOL

What you might want to consider is to look at all your products and divide them into categories in an excel sheet. I'm convinced that you have some products that a lot of people want to buy and search for and you will have a lot of products that you only sell once in a while.

Focus on a few high sellers. On the products page can you write a product review and/or combine it with your customers review of this product. This will create a lot of useful and unique content.

Now make sure that you work on your backlinks to these few products and make them rank.

Now rinse and repeat.

Thanks man, a great site to model. It's looks complete from A to Z. My site looks good as well, but after having a look at the website you referred, I know I can add many things such as content, call of action, testimonials etc. Thanks again. And yes, their staff size looks massive I am single man army, but if the website starts generating more sales, I will be outsourcing some stuff.

I am no expert but I guess it's okay to use these tools as long as you build backlinks gradually.
