So basically if you bookmark all your buffer and money sites (probably with BMD), all of them get a boost in SERPS\PR? Is that how it works? I've tried searching a guide\thread about this everywhere on BHW but couldn't seem to.

Bookmarks = low quality backlinks

I hope you know what backlinks do :)

They're good for diversity, I hit my buffer sites with whatever I can...

Ah so basically free PR 0 backlinks? What about RSS feeds? Also low quality backlinks?

If is brick and mortar then Google Places likes to see identical bookmarks and lots of them. Good luck!

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

This post is confusing. Are you asking the effect of social bokmarking in seo?

How it affects SERP and why do people do it was the intended question, sorry if it looked confusing.

They are really helpful for inddexing an giving a bit rep to your blogs. For the RSS part, you should think them some kind of mechanisms backing your site. It is live. RSS feeds may or may not be classifieds as backlinks. But after posting my first article, I send my site to around 100 rss directories using a tool shared here.

And when we come back to the original thread subject, bookmarking helps your site gain reputaion. And they also give backlinks. If you use twitter, facebook, statusnet and some other sites in a proper way, your every post will also be published on these sites automatically. That will make a huge contribution. These sites are immediately indexed. So your posts are also indexed quickly and those terms in your articles can take their positions on higher ranks.

You mean you submit to all RSS directories after every post you make? I thought you only needed to submit your main root page once?

Sorry for misunderstanding. I just submit my homepage rss to rss directories after the first post is created. That is it. I don't do it for every article.

So its maybe low quality but its a good thing to start with

I wouldn't classify RSS feeds as backlinks tbh :)

They don't show up do they?

Google loves social bookmarking sites. There was actually a time when you could get pretty much 100% of your backlinks indexed just by submitting them to Digg. It's not so easy now, but BMD works wonders for getting backlinks indexed.

Ah thank you for your reply. Do you bother pinging them too and use feedburner? I heard pingbulk.com is good. Also there's another RSS strategy I heard about regarding web 2.0 properties. I created a thread about it here http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/white-hat-seo/315124-rss-ring.html
Mind taking a look? :)

I think by bookmarking you increase your site traffic..the more if the title is something catchy...I'm new here (just signed a while ago) but I don't know if this is allowed...some bookmarking tips eric-gehler[.]biz/bookmarking-secrets[.]pdf ...just add http + :// before eric

I don't think you're allowed to give download links if
1) It's not in the download section and
2) There's no VT report

But thanks for your time mate :)

Low level links. Good for indexing a new site.

Thanks for the simple explaination.

So what makes BMD so popular and useful in that sense?
Is it only good for indexing new site only? Then maybe, after the site is indexed, we move on to SENuke/AMR/Scrapebox etc.?

Thanks
