My requests with your permission:

  1. Please do not read futher without going through the first part of this thread "Begin at The Beginning - A Wordpress Based Guide Dedicated to Newbies!".
  2. Please NEVER but NEVER make comments when you see something here to criticize it. Rather, try to make contributions to get this thread more useful.
  3. For example, when I say "Software A is good", please do not say "it is not good. It is bad." Create your own thread to say it. every word here is experienced by me and they are all true/useful7effective IMHO.
Let's start

  1. Work Hard
    • I know It has been pronounced here thousands of times maybe. But it is the only key, the only key for you success. I have met lots of people. I even went further spoon feeding them. They were all unsuccessful at the end. And they still wonder why they are failing all the time: BECAUSE THEY ARE LAZY. Really lazy. They spare hours and hours for reading this forum, chatting on msn, skype, facebook and twitter. But they never spend their 30 minutes to their sites.
    • Somehow they believed in those jerks and in these quotes:
      • "Be Rich in 10 minutes",
      • "Earn 1,000,000 in 27 hours"
      • "Ride a Mercedes like me"
    • They are all lies. I simply say that. They are all lies. Good original methods will never be shared before consumed (I may say mostly here. Sometimes if you are lucky you can learn useful stuff from valuable and highly respected people)
    • So you have only one option: To work really Hard. Nothing else. Nobody's recipe can make you millionaire. You should find ways, invent methods to earn a decent amount of money. Believe me, in some time, you will discover some tricks. But it will take time.
    • Never think that you will get money after creating your first site. Don't regret that you have some banned and deindexed sites. You are lucky enough that you know much better than some of the people in IM arena.
    • Do not (or never) give up if you have not killed more than 100 sites/domains/niches/keywords. Do not say that you always fail. Struggle, challenge, believe, make mistakes but always think positive.
    • I love this quote very much "A pessimist is someone who yells about the noise when the opportunity knocks"
  2. Content
    • You have your hosting, you have your own domain (never ask me about free subdomains or blogger etc shit)
    • You installed your wordpress.
    • You have installed all those plugins that I mentioned in my first post.
    • You wrote your first post, sent it to rss directories.
    • Now wait one week. This is my method. Google will eat your site. Allow it to digest.
    • Now you will make a decision here:
    • Will your blog be pure whitehat including your original/unique content or will it be blackhat/grayhat?
    • I mean will you be able to provide unique content to your blog for a long time? If you will give up (Confession: I sometimes do) writing posts and if you will hate your blog later, do not start this way. Rather go grayhat way.
    • Write your content according to your predefined keywords.
  3. Irregularity
    • Life is full of unexpected events, surprises. bad or good who knows. Do not be a regular one. Do not belive people saying that:
      • You should write posts regularly. One post/day or one/wek. No way. Be irregular. Google loves irregularity. One day write 2-3 posts. Have a rest. Then one week later write another one.
      • That is also true for your backlinks. Use irregularity. Do not try to get backlinks regularly everyday, every week.
    • My sayings about behaving in an irregular way do not mean that writing a post, giving one month break and writing 10 more again. Please be reasonable.
  4. Workload
    • If you spend 1 hour for creating content, then you should save 5-10 more times for backlinks. Backlinks never come easy. DO not buy saturated backlinks. Somebody here can sell you 100,000 scrapebox, xrumer backlinks here for $10. Is that good? I do not believe it. try to get backlinks from the related web pages/sites/blogs. try to find them on your own. Of course you will need some tools. I will name them later. Use them rather than paying people for this workload.
  5. Be Organized
    • Always note/write what you have done about your blogs. Use some software. Excell may be your best friend but I prefer do-organizer from GemX. It is the best tool you can find on the NET. But MS Outlook, or a decent PIM software may also be a solution. What you should care is that that software must have a hierarchical structure which will help to group your blogs.
    • Use excel for your url/domain/hosting management.
    • ZOHO is the best online solution if you would like to try. And it is free. If you make JV, if you have a workgroup and you would like all your team work in harmony, ZOHO will be the only answer for you.
  6. Writing content
    • You can write your own unique content or outsource it if you have money.
    • There are some excellent threads here on BHW for getting really super articles for cheap prices
    • While writing an article, you can get the source from a blog and may spin it. But at least put some of your words and sentences. Even try to add some images. Most people are unaware of the power of images. Use them as much as possible.
    • There are some tools which will help you to have fresh content. I will name them later.
  7. Using Images
    • As I have just written above: Most people are unaware of the power of images. When you use them on your blog, do not forget to have:
      • title
      • alt
      • description
      • caption tags.
    • Create a separate account for each of your blog from photobucket and use it as the image source.
    • You can have some ads on the images. You may try http://www.pixazza.com/.
    • Try to use some plugins which will make your blogs enhanced.
  8. Plugins
    • I have named lots plugins in the first part of this thread. Please refer to that URL for those plugins. Thay are really really useful to make your blog unique and they will make your site have an original look along with lots of seo help.
    • actually, I use on (some of) my blogs 30 more plugins. But I will not give names of them. They are also SEO related and for enhancement of blogs.
    • Five plugins care extra info: SEO Search terms Tagging 2, SEO Booster, SeoPressor, Clickbump SEO, Easy WP SEO. Some of them produce similar results. So use them on your own like/dislike.
    • All in one seo, /ultimate seo and some seo plugins are not enough. So try to find other ones integrating and completing them.
    • Do not underestimate meta tags. Most blogs and posts do not have even description and keywords tags. Use them. Believe me this will make a difference.
    • While using plugins, not to leave a footprint, try to rename the folders of the plugins (or zipfiles). And try to use different words for some settings. (Example: rather than using "Incoming search terms" for SEO Search Terms Tagging, use "My visitors found this page using those words:"
  9. TO BE CONTINUED....
    • Sorry, in 3-4 hours I will complete/finish this.... Just wait a bit...:). Have to leave now...

This post is a must read for newbies. Good work @edgematch

About photos, then will I recommend to spend a few min to optimize the size of the photos you are using. Don't let wordpress downscale the photos for you and consider if you can compress your photos. Even if it's just a few k, then is it worth the work to keep the size down on your webpages.

absolutely amazing details !
I found out that for images, there is a good WP-Plugin called : SEO Friendly Images , it does a really good job .

Keep them coming

Could you go over htaccess for rerouting between www. and non www please. Thank you

So much sorry that I could not go on. A very important exam tomorrow. I hope I will finish this thread after taking that exam.

Again please accept my apologies.

Could you go over htaccess for rerouting between www. and non www please. Thank you

Come on man. You're giving us newbies a bad wrap. :baby09:

Code:

good luck with the exam, looking forward to reading the rest of the post

Thanks for sharing the details. Got some interesting and useful things from the post.

Thanks so much. Exam is over now. Will finish the post today.

I am eagerly waiting for your part 3 post.
Thanks but my suggestion: When you read something useful, do not forget to press thanks button or give rep.

I see that, you have thanked nobody up to now. And I believe that it is just a way of exploiting this forum.:(

Thanks for sharing, It is so simple to jump out and buy a bunch of unnecessary tools that get thousands of backlinks that arguably don't do any good, especially if you don't do things the manual way first.

One of the easiest ways I have found to get good backlinks and traffic is forum signatures. The key is to not get greedy and spam thousands of links, but instead to actually make decent posts for your niche. It's amazing how small consistent effort can have such surprising outcomes.

Here's an update to the web2.0 list that was posted above...i tried opening accounts at a few of them

friendster and zoho - how do you use these for links? friendster is a social gaming site and zoho is a software management site from what I can tell

quizilla - you can make journal posts, but I don't see how they are public. is there anything you can do with this site that's useful?

nexo and vox - closed

diaryland, ning, and squarespace are require paid memberships to host your blog

blogher deleted my account on the first day for "spam"

tripod has a horribly bugging interface. i couldn't get the links to show up.

gather works ok as an article directory site, but the seo for urls is horrible. you can't get a keyword in the url

One other thing if I may add, however if you expect to really succeed in the game of internet marketing you are going to have to spend money promoting your business in some way...
Great details anyway:D
