I have a very important site that has been in Google dance for nearly 6 months now. I have continued to build links and also pyramids but nothing. Currently showing a ranking in the 700 range.

Now all the links to this site have been built to it without the www. so links point to hxxp://domain.org

Now, if i set the domain to use the 'www', so hxxp://www.domain.org would that nullify all the links and enable me to start from scratch and thus remove the site from Google dance?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I would recommend no don't change it.

the G does count www. and no www. as different urls.

It makes no difference. If your website hasn't been deindexed keep building backlinks.

Yeah I dont think it would.

When I'm dancing. I start to build quality links, and add unique content. That usually swings me out. Just add a constant pressure of 50-100 decent links per week, and 2+ posts/articles per week.

Thanks, guess i will just keep building the links and adding content.

Ok, i decided to go ahead and change the site to use the 'www' a few days ago and just checked today and my site has now gone from 700+ to no.22 in Google.

Coincidence or maybe it does work? Will wait and see if this is temprary or not but will immediately start building white hat links to the 'www' and hope the other links have now been discounted.

That is exactly what i was hoping for. So enable me to start from scratch with my link building as 6 months ago i knew very little and made mistakes. Now i know what NOT to do and how to rank my site hence why i wanted a restart.

It's such a crappy thing to, working with sites that are half www and half not... annoying..

yeah for the longest time i didnt have a 301 redirect. it sucked! i was splitting backlinks
