Hired a Programmer now what?

Hello,
I have some questions about programming.
Have hired a programmer that undrestand c++,c#
Only thing is he know nothing about making bots or other handy tools.

How should i teach him to make me the tools i want?

First thing i need is a really simple tools that copys words on website and arrange them in order in a .txt file.
Then i would like him to make some custom tools i can use in combination with my seo tools senuke,serobot,scrapebox,xrumer,spinnerchief,amr,ubot.

So if you allready know c++ and c# where would you go to learn the darker side of it ?

Maybe somewhere i can get my hands on some training bots and sourcecodes with description?

Same here really,but i don't have a clue about programming.
If i whent to school to learn c++ then the first thing i would look more in to is tools.

But like i said im a noob when it comes to programming,and i dont know what you learn in 4 years of schools studying programming.

This seems really weird to me... If you know C++ and C# it means that you should be able to build at least very basic bots. For example C# has all the networking stuff built in so downloading a web page only requires a few lines of code. After that you can easily process the content using regular expressions and other string manipulation stuff. I'm not too sure about C++ because I've been mostly using C# since 2002.

It looks like your "programmer" is some sort of script kiddo who doesn't really know how to program but knows how to find tutorials and examples to achieve certain things. No offence but this situation is a bit funny as like your programmer wouldn't know how to read a text file from a hard disk and paste the content in to a textbox (REALLY simple like the networking stuff if you know at least the basics of C#)

My advice would be to hire someone who's been working with internet related tools for some time because working with newbie will only set you back and take your valuable time. Would you hire a secretary who doesn't know how to use a computer, lol? (maybe a little harsh example but you know what I mean )

If you really want to stick with the programmer you've hired I suggest you to give him a copy of a book called "HTTP programming recipes for C# bots".

Sure it's possible that he makes great programs but if he knows the basics of C# (can't really talk about C++) he should know how to create a basic bot. Of course it's possible that he hasn't been interested in internet stuff at all but I'm just saying that it sounds weird to me...

I thought that he told you he doesn't know how to make a bot but if he only said that he HASN'T made a bot before it's whole another thing. To make things clear, did you ask him if he has any idea how to make a bot?

Okay sorry then, I misunderstood your first post The first thing to do would be to get an idea of what bots are and what they do. It could be done by giving him some software to play with... When your programmer is familiar with bots he should take some time to learn at least the following things:

• Basics of HTTP
• Sockets
• TCP
• HTTP Programming Recipes for C# Bots (This book has lots of useful information for basic bots. The theory is the same without looking at the programming language)

Well I think that if your programmer takes a good look at the topics above, he will be at least a decent bot programmer in the future! I might have forgot something from the list so if anyone wants to add something, go on!

I have not hired him only to make bots,hes going to add some APIs to some of my softwares and a lot more.

For the bot part i could be better off to hire some one with more experience but i don"t why? I do not trust just anybody to make me tools or other things,giving a FUD Rat with the software is no problem if you know what you are doing.

I would say that you should fire him right now if hes not able to complete even such an easy task

no doubt i can do all that stuff too, but i'm just saying i learned c# for the sole purpose of making bots. agreed that trust is an issue, but time should be also. where this guy will probably spend 2 weeks making you a bot i would spend about two days. perhaps outsourcing the bot part may be of use. if you're interested in chatting about it pm me your skype.

I'm a programmer and I used to try to hire programmers before I became one (I'm now employed as a programmer in a non-blackht field) and it rarely, if ever, worked out. Basically you can't hire someone on the cheap and expect to get much done, you need someone who has enough experience and that you can trust and they usually aren't cheap, so I don't know your situation but if you're just trying to hire a freelancer from another country, or something, you are going to need to learn the basics of programming to help outline tasks to them and check on their progress and competency.

As far as c++ or c#, its best to just forget about c++ for now and go with c#, c++ is more complicated and slower to develop in and c# will be easier to understand for someone learning
