Well I'm pretty new to this community (just look at my join date), but so far I've managed to pick the right niche, worked hard days and nights on the same site against tough competition, and I'm finally reaping the benefits. Now I'm looking to diversify (that thing about eggs and baskets) but I want to make my income as safe as possible by protecting my website, which is a wordpress blog.
So the question is, how can I secure my money site the most? What I have done so far was buying domain privacy and installing the Secure Wordpress plugin, also made a backup of my mysql database and of my home FTP folder. I'm using a shared hosting plan, should I make an upgrade? And if so, what fits best? My traffic is not high (it's a basic plan and I've only used 5% of bandwidth this month so far), so I thought that buying something like a dedicated server was unnecessary. Also hoster is not Justhost or Hostgator, which seem to be a common factor in some "my website was hacked" threads.
I also only access my website from my macbook, so I'm not worried about virus and keyloggers (should I be?)
Sorry for the beginner questions, I was never good with that thing people call technology
Thanks to everyone who tries to help, cheers!
