Living 5 miles from ebay/paypal

So I live about 5 miles from a major ebay/paypal call center. I have worked a lot of technical support/sale call center jobs in my life so I feel I would be able to get a job there fairly easily...

What do you guys think? Should I get a job and try to learn some serious inside info???

speaking as someone who worked in a call center before (for geeksquad actually)

you really WILL learn the functions of hwo they work, no real "Secrets", but youll know the ins and outs and how to bend the rules to someones favor pretty well more than likely. I say go for it, but plan to leave fast, call centers are a horrible workplace.

You'll also sign legal papers which could make your future use of that info / work with them, let's say, limited.

Of course... but it's not hard to make buddies with all the people sitting in their nice little offices... Maybe make some nice copies of some internal knowledge base articles, stuff like that...

Those who know extra information of Paypal/Ebay that other's don't , they are probably trusted enough to get hired, then anyone would just go and get hired. And not all of them are given the information that others don't know.

Live in the Bay or an outsourced center? I actually tried getting a job with their collections and fraud department. Those guys at PayPal are pretty experienced the higher you go. It was strictly to find out how the hell they fucked over people for - I guess I wouldn't have lasted long.

You think Ebay doesn't track all this? He would probably get fired the same day, and maybe sued, and he would hardly find another job offline.

learn how to bend the rules and help people out. what they need to say to the operators to get what they want. then report back.

also, i read that all of ebays offices are furnashed with stuff bought off ebay itself. lol, sound fun.... good luck - get ready to be yelled and cussed at by 100+ people / day.
