hi guys im sorry for the stupid question to some.. however i would like to build my reputation so i can offer a service here on BHW. I cant find anywere that show how to do this?

i know i should know this by now but i simply have not gotten in to the reputation and thanks side of things..

once again sorry for the silly question

You need to share something of value, if a member finds that it has helped them they will thank you in 'thanks' and/or positive rep.

Wait for people to ask questions, and do research and/or answer them from your personal experience and knowledge. Again as facebookdude said, if your answers help them, you will get what you are looking for. Sharing things just doesn't need to be giving away products or services, sometimes just answering a question helps.

As has been advised above but you will also be expected to offer reviews (trusted members, vips etc) and of course a mod will have to approve it. So really just offer as much good advise as you can and get your service approved and go for it!
HTH

step one.... figure out how u lost 7 reputation points and never do that again

You could start by figuring out how you got to 3 rep. You must have said quite a few stupid things to get that low as only Jr VIP and above can neg rep.

Once you figure out what you've done wrong... do the opposite :)

Generally speaking, if you're helpful and share good stuff, you'll get rep.

Share! Give back to community! Have best opinion in a thread!
Simple like this

mukuz and facebookdude are absolutely on the money.

How to find something of value? Go to other forums and gleam some gems to bring back here and share.

Get some royalty/license free codes, ebooks, offers, vouchers and spread the love here.

Make loads of friends - you can do something for each other and give each other reps for the favors.

Make constructive comments here rather than inane OMG / Thanks for share wink and other lamo stuff.

Sell a service and give loads of freebies without burning a hole in your pocket.

If you are adding something of value here your rep will grow naturally. You want a good reputation? Earn it. Pretty simple.

Others have explained what you need to do, but I will add never beg for thanks/rep. It is so f**king annoying.

Agreed. That's a good way to get negative rep.

I wonder how much rep you had when you started this thread? :D

ok guys thats great thanks for all the help... i didnt even realize that i had lost any reputation points.. thats a bumber.. i wonder how that could have happened. i dont every recall doing anything misleading or negative.. however i will make more of an effort to help out around here.. thanks again

Just in case you are not aware, if you goto the User CP page on the top menu, and scroll to the bottom it lists who has given/taken your rep with any comments why.

Not a silly question mate. But don't let this stop you offering your service anyway. If you offer some review copies of the service, and you perform well, your reputation, thanks and itrader will go up anyway.

You can loose rep for anything, I lost rep for posting in a thread about the dangers of registering a copyright domain name. the comment was "don't be stupid."

I guess any advice I can give is post information you think people want, not always what is right, if that makes sense?

or post what they want to hear as well as posting what you really think...

Yea just make valuable posts and answer other members questions to the best of your ability.
