I don't think the links will actually hurt, they probably just don't do anything at all. I wonder if G even fully indexes a page with 5 megabytes worth of comments


I hardly believe anything that falls into the "Site Owner A can hurt Site Owner B"-scheme ... even if Matt or another ... industry voice(?) ... is posting it on his/her blog.

Often enough those statements actually mean something like "Damn we can't figure out a way to algorithmically deal with this, without killing a lot of quality sites too".

The importance of BLs from related sites is indisputable though 'been like that for years.

i suggest removing the link. it's a good deed but it'll ruin it for everyone who has their site there as google will probably devalue them.
