Hi guys i m running a site on wordpress and forum on phpbb....the problem is my phpbb forum is not geting many visits comapred to my wordpress site....my wp site is like www.mysite.com and forum is www.mysite.com/forum/

my wp site gets 15-20 times more visits compared to phpbb forum :( shud i change to vbulletin..can i use cracked vbulletin, will things improve if i use vbulletin ,will it create problem using cracked version ? :(

vb is the way to go. or make sure your site is easy to find your forum. make a banner for your page thats linked to the forum. That should help you.

How are you telling people that you have a forum? Is your forum active? Is the forum empty?

An empty forum will be harder to rank and to get people to sign up. An active forum with content will be easier to rank. At the end of your articles tell them to join your forum and give them a link to it. But when they get there, you need to have some content. People will usually not sign up for a forum that is empty because there is nothing there for them.

I wouldn't use a cracked vbulletin for any forum that requires more that 2 members. In other words, it's a bad idea to try and use it on any project from which you plan to invest your time/money on.

Phpbb isn't that bad if you tweak it a little. Maybe you should try some other strategies to drive visitors to your forum before upgrading to something like vbulletin.

Sure, "forum" SEO is not much different than "regular" SEO :) Just do normal things that you might do for a blog or other site.

I have noticed this myself thought, where a WP blog starts off much stronger than other scripts like forums. Were they both started at the same time? Is the WP blog older and more established?
