Why all the negative energy here?

when someone makes a low quality thread (like asking a question that's been asked 1000 times already), they're flamed so they learn to stop making similar threads in the future. this is absolutely necessary, as allowing rampant creation of low quality threads is extremely harmful to the forum as a whole. each one brings BHW one step closer to DP, and nobody wants that.

getting flamed is like a friendly warning, and a second chance to change their ways and post something useful. if the OP can't take the hint, then they're eventually banned.

Yes, It's necessary to keep the unnecessary threads reduced. I'm not objecting to that. It's not necessary to belittle. But I liked your reply! Very well thought out.

i think its needed to 'train' some of the new members so that they wont post every newbie question in their own threads instead of using the search feature and learn from other members experience. Like you said, we were all newbies at some point so theres a big chance that your question was already asked and maybe even answered in the past.

This 'training' also helps to keep the forum clean. I mostly come here to learn about new IM methods so Im glad that some members are doing what they do to keep the unneccesary posts/threads to a minimum.

And a good way to communicate that to someone who is doing such things, is to simply explain it as you just did. I'm not saying newbies should be spoon fed. I learned almost everything the hard way too. I'm just suggesting that maybe someone who is still learning doesn't deserve to be belittled. Thanks for your reply. Peace man!

I'm so glad you used the word "train" because I think the general opinion against my OP is that we must use negativity to "train" newbies not to start unnecessary threads. The truth is that positive reinforcement always works better. It been proven time and time again. Any psychologist or business consultant will tell you this. When some one makes a mistake, you identify it, teach them how to correct it, and encourage them. Positivity promotes learning. Thank you so much for your reply. Very interesting!

Most of those people deserve every flame and insult they get. Why? Because most of the information they are looking for is either in a stickied, prominently displayed thread or can be easily found using the search function. Despite the incredibly easy access they have to the answers they need, they're still too damn lazy to look it up themselves and expect someone tell them the answer. People with that kind of attitude don't deserve niceties in return.

First of all almost ALL of of the questions newbies ask is already answered 100x. I know many people are irritated by these 2 post count lurkers asking the same questions that already have been answered on page 2.

True everyone was once a newbie, but certain people have never asked before using the search. And once you've obtained some sort of knowledge I believe you should share some of it with the community as it is them who have gave you knowledge for free, quid pro quo. Alot of leechers aka lurkers do not realize this and continue to just leech and plague the community giving nothing in return as well as repeating the same questions over and over again.

Noone is here to hold anyone's hand. Everyone else has their own agenda for being here and I believe noone joined this forum to babysit anyone.



You can simply find ALL of the answers you're looking for by a nice little feature called SEARCH.

I totally agree with you that positive reinforcement always works better but you have to keep in mind that this is an IM forum and most people here are interested in good content, learning new techniques, meet some JV partners etc etc. So maybe not everyone is as tactful as they could be towards newbies but BHW isnt really the kind of place to get educated on forum behaviour/etiquette.

Theres also the fact that BHW keeps growing and there will always be 'newbies' that joined recently, read about all the success stories and want to jump on the bandwagon asap and post a "How can i make money online?" thread in the hope that someone will tell them 'the secret' lol.

IMHO, maybe they should be warned when they sign up to the forum so they dont make that mistake and other members dont have to 'train' them in unfriendly ways?

99% of BHW members are positive people. If you open a thread about a new method, or how you made your first bucks, you will have a lot of people saying thank you, or congratulations. I found out that BHW members are much more positive and good people than other online communities.
